: Gas Mileage?

Well, my neighbor has an 89 Ford Bronco he wants to sell me. It is a four speed standard. Haven't got to test it yet, but i am sure it is pretty good. It is a sweet ride, he has huge tires, rolebar with 5-6 lights, and a huge lift. I love it, but with the price of gas i might just have to do with out it! Any one have any idea what kinda mileage i might get from it?

From what you're describing, about 12 is a good educated guess.

Is that a full size Bronco or the Bronco II? If it's a BII then I can shed a little light. My '89 BII gets around 28-30 mpg in stock 4x4 trim. I think the big Bronco came with 351m or 351w engines. With what he has done to it I would say 12 mpg would be the max, depending on how big those "huge" tires are, you could realistically get under 10 mpg. Your gas mileage question could be a sign of why he is selling it...... :sarcasm:

I think the reason he is selling it mainly is because he jsut bought a brand new ford diesel, mind you the gas mileage could have had somethign to do with it. I would really like this thing, it is a hell of a vehicle, but i just wouldn't have the money for gas unless he gives me a darn good deal on the thing. It is a Big Bronco, 30+ " tires i am guessing, cause they are big. If only gas went way down again!

Gas mileage, brutal. Save your money and have a nice trip! :D
Check with your insurance agent, at your age it could be pretty high.

It will be very bad on gas. 10-12mpg MAX. With the cost of gas now it will bury you money wise. Sounds like a nice Bronco though. Can we see a pic??

Bauer,

Don't expect good gas mileage at all. Fords from that era were terrible on fuel. In winter, it will break you.

well i can tell you that to get 12 you will be dreaming. if it is a full size bronco that is. I have a 92 f150 pretty much same size of a truck.. and i got 12 stock. i get about 6-8 now and i only have 33X12.5's with a 6 inch lift. i imagine you could get about 8-10 if you clean the engine really good and do a really good tune up . but as long as it is a full size bronco i dont think you will get 12... also what size engine is in it? id guess a v8 of some size or maybe even fords straight 6 either way...lifted trucks rule! let us see some pictures :D

Ihave a full size blazer with a 350 cid, six inch lift rolling on 35's,,,,there is no fuel milage.....6 to 8 mpg really sucks. But it is fun to drive.....

If you got 10 MPG you would be lucky.

with a 351 7-8 MPG is more like it.
