Summer is almost here and for some of us our thoughts turn to tuning up the hot rod. While I have had several and they all have a story some are more memorable than others. The question to you is what is your most memorable car, or truck and why. It doesn't have to be a hot rod. It could be that 1978 Plymouth Volare with a slant six that was your first car. It could be that Chevy 4x4 that took you through hell and back on a off road adventure. Most of us have a story like this about there favorite car. While my stable of hot rods has included a '63 Dodge turned into a drag car, '68 Charger, '71 Camaro and several others that never did get completed my favorite was a '82 Honda Civic. Hey when you're in high school with a limited budget it helps to have a cheap car to drive. I bought it used and it was my first car. Contrary to what some people may think a 6'6" person can get tail in a little Honda. Happened lots. Wasn't pretty but who cares. That little car was put through hell. Road trips to the beach packed with beer and friends, hauled many a big V8 in the back and all kinds of other auto parts. Put it on its roof one night after a pit party and way too much alcohol. Cut the roof off after this and put in a roll cage to keep the body from bending. The best was racing a late 80's vette with it. Happened downtown Winnipeg and the street lights are rather close together. With a stick shift in the car i was able to beat him consistanly light to light. Sure he had a lot more power under the hood but he just kept spinning the tires at take off. Befor he could get across the intersection i was already at the next light waiting for him. That was a blast. Any one else.

My dad had his '86 Mustang GT 5.0L with a 5-speed. One of the fastest stock mustangs.

This thing was awesome, Black with grey interior, moon-roof, no rust, mint, it was beautiful.

I remember him telling me he was on the 401, and this burner in a Fiero kept tail-gating him and cutting him off. So my dad let buddy get in front of him, he dropped it into 3rd gear and was rite behind this guy for a mile or two with black smoke coming out of the Fieros tail-pipes as he tried to pull away from the big brute. Finally, the guy was getting mad that he couldnt loose my dad who was still in 3rd or 4th gear, so my dad pulled up beside the guy, waved at him, and hammered the big 5.0L down again as he pulled away and forever lost the guy in the Fiero. Dad said the guy was MILES behind him and the mustang still had lots left.

I have a million of my dads storys to tell but they're too long to type. He's had so many powerdul muscle cars, Gran Prix 455's, big oldsys, etc.... :D :D

I had a '91 Geo Metro one time. What makes this story funny is that I am 6' 5" 230 pds. What a painfull.....PAINFULL!! car to drive for someone of my stature. I took my dog, (full size Lab), camping in it last summer in 100+ degree heat. What a memory. No air conditioning, and a hovering dog panting on my neck with "whirling and swirling" dog slobber slinging around inside the car. Ahh, and those hills, those hills....... when it overheated, you just turned the heater on, (again, 100+ degree heat), and the engine cooled right down. Ahh what memories, I bought and sold it within 5 months. I couldn't take the leg cramps anymore
