My taillight wasn't working so I loosened the seat to check the wires under the seat and everything seemed fine. Went to start the sled to check to make sure I had power everywhere and couldn't start the sled. Put gas in the cylinders and it would run till that gas was gone. I thought maybe I kinked the fuel line but no it wasn't. Now I'm thinking the fuel pump is shot. Am I close.

Alot of times the fuel pick-up line in the tank falls of or deteriates. With you pulling the seat off I would check this too.

I blew into the vent line and fuel came out no problem. How do I check the pick up line inside the tank?

Zert , the fitting that connects to your tank is about half way up the tank,so if you are blowing into your vent line and you have less than half a tank of gas I would say that your pick-up line is intact. If you blow into your tank can you see gas going through the lines to fill your carbs.? Also make sure your impulse line going from the motor the the fuel pump has a pulse when your pulling the recoil. These are a couple more ideas.

I'll have to check those things. Thanks.

Just to make sure, even though you get gas to push through when you blow on the vent line, maybe your vent line is almost blocked causing a vapor lock. *take off the gas gauge/cap and pull. *It may take as many as 30 pulls. *My budy took off the gas tank on his ZL and mistakingly partially kinked the vent line and it ran for miles and miles, probably 30 before it created a big time lock. *As soon as he removed the cap we heard a big woosh of air suck into the tank.

We have it narrower down to either the fuel liter or the fuel pump. We got 13cm of snow this weekend and my sled sat apart in my garage. It sucks to be me!
Took all the carbs out and cleaned them, replaced some fuel lines and the filter, blew out all the fuel lines put it back together and vroom vroom away she went.
