I know it is still a few months away, but has anyone heard when Ski Doo will start to build and ship the 2004 models. Specifically the Renegades. Can't wait to get mine in the garage and start "dressing" it up.

I have not heard a word when they're going to run actual models but was told to expect the carbs first then the SDI's. Any truth to that who knows so long as mine comes in before the snow flies.

I don't know if 'doo has their production schedules set or not, but when I ordered my '01 MXZ back in '00, the order book already had the schedule set up as to which models w/ each option were going to be built. My black 600 MXZ w/ Trail suspension was built near the end of August & I got the sled in September.

If someone is "close" w/ their dealer ask them if 'doo has the same info this year.

The last few seasons had the Gades showing up at dealers in August.

The earliest I've had a sled come in was end of August......(02 gade) and the latest was second week of november.....(89 mach 1) and a bunch some where inbetween. I would imaginge the sled's with sdi motors will be late..........but that's only speculation.

after being at the sea-doo dealer the other day i wonder now if sdi will have no bearing at all with production. it looked to me like there are more sdi than carburetor by a long shot in sea-doo's.

Paul,
What models are they putting the SDI in the Sea Doo's? I have only seen DI, EFI, and their new 4-Tech. with the supercharger :D

Cheers,

evel,
i guess my exact terms could be wrong as i am not right up on two stroke fuel injection systems, but what i meant was fuel injection systems on sea-doo. for lack of a more precise term i used sdi, sorry about that.

I seen the scedule on the wall at my dealer(I didn't pay any attention to it though).a call to your dealer should get the answer your looking for as far as production goes.thing is you'll wait till a full truck is coming your way to get it though.

Orbital Injection is the Term paul. And yes Carbs are all but gone in seadoos. I suspect that sleds will follow suit.

Now's a good time to book that Doo factory tour. I did it last summer. It was really great. You may get to see them tooling up for the new Elite or even building your machine.

When I ordered my '01 MXZX 800 it came in the second week of december.  My 600 sdi better come in earlier than that!

the e.f.i. Sea-Doo's are SDI.

SDI are only found in sleds. THe Seadoos have true DI injection made by Orbital.

Machzzzz1, do you know why the Sea Doo's went with the Orbital DI instead of the FICHT DI from the OMC outboards?

orbital is on the 947. efi(sdi) is on the 787. the 947 uses orbital because it is better for that engine. only needed to add a air pump for the fuel rail. also they started R&D before they bought OMC. the 787 is sdi.(work at a sea-doo/ski-doo dealer)

So the SDI (and future DI) versions are based on the FICHT injector design?

the s.d.i. is much like the e.f.i. sea-doo they have had since 1998. in the future there will be true D.I. in the past they said that the stator out put (on the sleds now)was not enough to run ficht and that you need a air pump to run orbital. the staors are getting better so I think soon you will see ficht on the sleds. right now the emissions on a sea-doo 4 stroke and a 200 hp Evinrude( 2 stroke) are almost the same.

guess what they never made a 947 its a 951 budddy and they dont have any sdi in seedoos only di, also they never had a 787 its a 785 and a 720, also if im not mistaken it was R.F.I not efi

I never said anything about c.c. I'm talking about engine type(Mach Z engine type 809)buddy. type 947=951.2 c.c., type 787= 781.6 c.c. and type 717= 718.2 c.c. I'm reading the Sea-Doo 2003 technical update book right now. in the engine specifications section under "injection type" type 787 engine is "semi-direct". yes the do call it r.f.i.(rotax fuel injection) but that is just there way of saying e.f.i. to make it sound better.
