In a previous note ,I stated that I snow checked a new 2004Rev800HO.All my friends also are buying new machines - Rev 600SDI,Sabercat600,ProX700 and F-7.Also the 2003 MACHZ will be running with us,which I do not expect to beat, but if I put 144 studs and leave the machine stock, what should be my expectations with the other competition. ;)

You were the smart one to buy the REV800HO over the others. That will be one of the fastest of the bunch, not to mention the nicest looking :D

IMO... the machz will beat you on the lakes and the F7 will give you a good run but the others won't be a problem......

the f7 will probly beat u and if it dosent it will be close, i hope they changed the motor problems from last year because i rode the 2003 rev 800 and i was not impresed at all it could only hit 105 and it was cluthed. later that day the rev 600 was beating it

There's another sled that you have to worry about in 04. I'm not sure of the name, but it has a diamond drive system in it and somewhere between 800-900 cc's. I think cat makes it. :p

if the mach is stock and has the reg .88 track on it it's gonna take a while for it too catch you. if you set your suspention up right for good hole shot.
3 eyed is right the new zr9 will probably be a force to be reconed with. I think cat will put more of a gap between the zr9 and the firecat.
Just my opinion.
IMO you will beat them all but the Mighty Mach. The F7 will be close but i think you can take. Just get a good start.

Yup, I agree, the Mach Z was a great sled, but for the first 600-800 feet you will be real happy with your new 800, lots of grunt off the bottom. I rode with some guys on 02/03 Z's this last season and I ripped there guts out up to @1000 feet, then thats when they started to cook.
Leave it stock, untill ya try it out and then see what you think it needs. As far as studding the track goes, it only becomes neccesary if you ride in icey conditions or are planning on racing/draging on the ice. If your typical conditions dont include ice, dont stud. The tracks keep getting better every year and an un-studded track moves faster with less wear and tear on the sled. Where I live and ride mostly, studs are needed for both going and stopping, we are prone to having slick trails. If I lived 80-100 miles north of here, I probably wouldnt bother with the cost and maintenece of studs.
Good Luck

I disagree. I think the Rev will beat the F-7. 700cc versus 800HO??? Those Revs are fast.
