I have this excellent lift that I have desined. The sled is lifted 24 inches from the ground and held by the running boards and the bulk head leaving all parts of the sled free to work on. One nice thing that I have found is that you can have the hood open and work on the clutches and gears at waist hieght instead of bending over your sled. Once the sled is lifted you can run the machine and roll it around the garage on its wheels. My lift folds away into as compact size and only weighs about 30 pounds. I am not a sales guy just a sledder sick of getting a sore back working an his sled and I think that I have stumbled onto a good concept. If I were to build these hoists and sell em cheap how many of you would have a need and maybe consider getting one. My cost on construction *for the proto type is $180.00 canadian, and now that I know what I am doing it will be less...........Oh I forgot to mention that the sled does not have to driven or pulled onto this hoist. The hoist is easily placed under the front and then lifted up to desired hieght. Like I said I am not trying to sell anything I just wanted to share it with you guys and get some feed back. I have a cmp sled lift and I love it for everthing but pulling the skid out as the upright tubes get in the way so I just tip the sled on its side and pull the skid out before I lift it.As far as working on everything else it is the best thing since plastic skis.Next thing I want to get is a storage system,I seen one in a tool mag you put one sled on it crank it up and put another underneath sure would free up space in the garage.

Excellent sledhead.I would be really interested as i have a marlift and it was $300 canadian at the super trax show.I have 2 machines though so i could use another and my buds park their rides here too.Keep me posted.Does it look simular to this?

It looks close but I dont use a crank mine is a pump and a little more compact. Do you have to pull your sled onto the mar lift then crank? My hoist is an open end concept and slides in beside the track without lifting the sled onto the hoist.

Looks the same except the Mar lift does not have the bar running directly under the track and fully compressed it is only a few inches high also yes I just drive on to it unless I have the sled lowered for drags then I have to lift the front a bit to clear the radius rods.I use a half in drill to raise and lower mine crank takes to long.

You slide it underneath, you can put the quad on it too.Try and get a pic up im very interested.

Yes since it is very similar to my cmp marlift it will work on atvs also as I use mine on atvs all the time.I would not be with out mine it is a life and back saver.

Here's my homemade lift. Its a heavy duty one for all the toys we have at the cottage. I was able to lift my sled plus three people on it quite easily. I've put it underground so it can completly dissapear when I need space in the garage. It goes 4' high which is alot higher then most of the lifts you can buy and it's better on the back when changing those lawn tractor blades.

I am curious to know what you use to lift the stand up with? You mentioned you use a Pump? *I don't understand? *what kind of pump?

Here is a pic of the stand i built. *It slides under the sled from the front (no lifting) It uses a typical floor jack to lift, and cost me about $40 us for the parts.
