What is a good way to keep cats (as in felines not Arctic kinds) out of my flower beds. Short of sitting on my steps with a gun day and night I would like something that works. Can anyone help? Please, I'm tired of digging out pounds of cat crap. :cussing:

zert,
there are these little twisties that you can buy and attach them to shrubs in the flower garden. i think i got them at the tsc store. they give off some kind of odour that cats dislike.

I have the same problem here but it is my cat. She is very lucky that she is such a good hunter. I havent seen a squirrel or Chippy all spring and she gets mice everynight. Those things Paul was talking about doo work , but I havent seen them in a long time. Other repellants that can be used are Cayan Pepper, moth balls/flakes, Dog hair, Predator Urine, Vinegar, and finally the garden hose for some one on one. ;)

You could try a live trap. Bait em with some tuna. You can figure out what to do with them after you catch them. I know what I would do :hallo1:

Sometimes if you have the cat nip weed in with your flowers they'll get high off it in your flower bed and mess around in it. So get rid of the weed and hopefully that'll solve the problem if that is your problems. :D

the problem with stray cats is they'll make you do something that you will regret later. usually something stupid in front of the whole family.

Turn your dismay into some family entertainment. Pick up a laser pointer at the office supply. Next time the culpret is out in the flower bed, beam the lazer near it. Cats are generally curious so it will probably try to pounce on the red dot. Hours of fun making kitty chase it's tail or climb the walls, trees etc. The only downside is waiting for the guest of honour to arrive in you yard. :hallo1: :hallo1:

Cayan pepper!!! Works Great.

I like the laser pointer too! Have them follow it to the middle of the road. :hallo1:

You could always pour some kitty litter in the middle of the road.

Use a live trap. Then take it to the nearest lake or river, tie a long rope on it and give her a toss in, 5 minutes later retrieve it and give the dead puss to the fish.

Caution, dont do this too many times in the same lake because it will give the fish hair balls. :D

My paintball gun would kill a cat! :D

If you make the Cat bark like a dog it will never come back... To do this you gotta cover the cat with gas and throw a match at it, then it'll go WOOF! :D

You could always wet the ground and stick night crawler prods in the grounds. They won't come near it then!
