I've been searching high and low for aftermarket ignition for these twins and have had no luck. I'm looking for one that would be trailable.

Anyone have a system on theirs or have any leads for one?

MSD doesn't have anything yet exc the run dead system. They are planning to do something soon but no target date. I have been in contact with them.

Is it possible that the Ignition Control module uses a PROM to maintain spark curve instructions? In the automotive world I have emulated the image of the vehicle's ECM (Electronic Control Module) through a class II data link to the hard drive of my note book leaving me free to play with parameters on it. When I have the address (code) tweaked to my liking I reverse the procedure and burn (program) the instruction onto a blank PROM and install it back. I don't have a newer machine with a smart control module but imagine it's the same routine. I'll have to follow this one up with my dealer buddy and let you know. ;)

it's just not possible on a two stroke motor with the sealed mpem. definately not to be trailable. you could pull all the electronics out and use some from a two stroke dirt bike that has the spark or ignition timing you are looking for, if you know what that is. it's just a huge task to achieve. give it time and someone will come out with some cosmic concoction. cat's chips can (use to) be changed on the E.F.I' s as i'm sure you know, but not on a doo. the cat E.F.I computer system is responsible for every parameter of the engine function. you use to be able to change that function with a different chip.

no idooski, i'm with you all the way. i just wonder how long it will take before the technology hits the aftermarket, in a tuneable, trailable form. i'd buy one!!

MSD even has them for scooters. But not for snowmobiles. I know there are guys out there that have put together their own. I don't have the time to do much more research and I don't have the money to buy the wrong stuff. Oh well, maybe someone will come forward.
