: Top speed
HP&Torque 01-27-2002, 04:28 PM Was just wondering, who likes to go fast, and who does http://www.snowmobileworld.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif not so much 1000' or 1/4 mile but when your sled totally unwinds how fast, also should be radar or GPS. unit. *ALL stock speedos suck *http://www.snowmobileworld.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif especially cats http://www.snowmobileworld.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif *Also if your stock or otherwise,, *I have gone 115.2 on stock zrt800,, 4100 miles, with reverse http://www.snowmobileworld.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif
SLDRDR 01-27-2002, 06:12 PM Have gone 125 mph on a 99 zrt800, v-force reeds. *This was checked on a speedcheck radar detector, the day i did that i was jumping all over with speed it would read 112 then, 108, then back up to 125, not sure what was going on you figure it out. *I don't run resistor plugs so that might be the problem. http://www.snowmobileworld.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif Also the day i did that a Xcr 800 did 118 and a XC 500 did 102, i was mostly impressed with the 500.
Darryn Duncan 01-28-2002, 07:27 AM I've had my 95 zrt800 needle to the last C in arctic on the speedo.
ArTeeCat 01-28-2002, 08:36 AM Had my 02 ZR 800 up to the M in mph on the speedo. *Seconds after got clocked by the town cop at 71 as I came off the throttle. *Plenty of throttle left. *Cop was nice and let me go.
Catmandew 01-28-2002, 11:18 AM Had my speedo buried on my ZR800EFI CC just last weekend on a lake. Too bad the speedo only goes to 100mph. The needle wanted to keep going! *http://www.snowmobileworld.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
ZRT600MtnCat 01-28-2002, 12:05 PM I have a stock ZRT600 with a 136 1.5 track and I have gone 9.03 seconds flat in the 1320 and continued on to a top speed of 148.5 Miles per hour. I also have 3,000 miles of private snowmobile trails for sale here. LOL *http://www.snowmobileworld.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
SNORAT 01-28-2002, 04:02 PM Hey zert mnt cat,I think you had better get a new radar gun,or you are dreaming .
There is no way a stock zrt 6oo long track will go 148.5 mph,and I'm sure all you tcat and zrt 800 owners will agree with me on that.
mtrsprt 01-28-2002, 04:15 PM </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote (SNORAT @ Jan. 28 2002, 5:02pm)</td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">Hey zert mnt cat,I think you had better get a new radar gun,or you are dreaming .

he was kidding http://www.snowmobileworld.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif
phazerhater 01-29-2002, 06:44 AM Fastest I have had on radar was just under 100mph. *That was in 1000' w/no studs and all stock aside from a clutch and gear kit. *Hard pack the speedo has been between arctic and cat(guessing probably around 105mph actual speed) *When I get back I will have to see what I get on radar now that I have studs and a few other mods done. http://www.snowmobileworld.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif
Tattoo3235 01-31-2002, 04:49 PM I got mine around the speedo, past 100 and back to the "M" in MPH. *Haven't radared it. *Have no idea how accurate. *Hade a little left though...
Machzzzz1 01-31-2002, 05:04 PM 130 mph on speedo. *Its only out by 2mph at 110 according to gps.
AKCAT 01-31-2002, 07:18 PM 127 mph on a 1997 T-Cat, a little throttle left but had to use about 700 ft of the lake for shutdown, and I used every bit of it.
600triple 02-14-2002, 11:26 AM PSI makes an aftermarket speedometer that goes to 130mph never came close and speed was very accurate according to radar.maybe 115 out of mildly ported and piped 600 triple
thundercatzr 02-14-2002, 12:06 PM 132 mph on radar. *stock except for 192 woodys 1075's
LadyKatRider 02-14-2002, 12:34 PM got it up to 30, *http://www.snowmobileworld.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
SNOWBLOWN 02-14-2002, 01:13 PM 155 MPH in my 95 Eldorado touring coupe http://www.snowmobileworld.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif
Tattoo3235 02-14-2002, 02:40 PM 160 on my 87 suzuki GSXR1100. *Sold it a few weeks later. *I don't have enought sense to have something that fast on 2 wheels....... *at least I can admit it...haha..
SLDRDR 02-14-2002, 03:54 PM I'm not sure about the PSI aftermarket speedo, but i know that Black Magic makes ont to 130mph, it looks exactly like the OEM cat speedo.
zl800 02-14-2002, 06:17 PM I have had my 2002 ZL 800efi SS up to 116 MPH on radar with my Girlfriend on with me. I also have reverse and the sled had about 150miles or so on it at the time.
SnowmoKING 02-14-2002, 06:52 PM Ive gone 160 k/ph on lake with a fully supped up SRX. *It had everything done to it. *I wasn't even floored.
it has alot of studs also http://www.snowmobileworld.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
nick gehring 02-14-2002, 07:13 PM About 146mph or so the speedo said on my 1990 Suzuki GSXR. * *Sold it about 2 months later....... *(Learned how to crank wheelies) *http://www.snowmobileworld.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif
1000-IMP 02-15-2002, 12:31 AM 95 MPH in 660' on my 2000 T-Cat Improved sled
94 MPH in 800' on my brothers 2000 600 MX Z improved sled
Both on radar gun, and had the track measured out.
ZRT600MtnCat 02-15-2002, 08:00 PM I was kidding about the 9 sec 148 stuff, My ZRT is now geared lower for more pull. I did see my speedometer touch the 100 MPH mark 3 times this season but am not sure how fast it can go. It was still pulling at 100 but don't think it can go faster than that anyway. With the stock gearing I had it way buried many times, I guess that the other ZRT owners I spoke with say that is about 115 MPH. But I really do not know, only a radar gun can tell the truth and I don't have one.

As for other Machines:
My Dodge Coronet 440 went 112 in the 1/4 mile with 4.10 gears, and top speed (aerodynamic wall, don't let other HotRodders fool you) with 2.76 gears was 134 MPH (I got out of the ticket too.)

LadyKatRider 02-15-2002, 08:14 PM I got mine up to 65 mph the first time I had it out this winter (the only time mind you) my husband, however, likes to log in as me sometimes and proclaims I only went 30. Next year when the knee is all healed- we'll let you know! http://www.snowmobileworld.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif
Any one care to guess who the hubby is??? http://www.snowmobileworld.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif
ZRT600MtnCat 02-15-2002, 08:17 PM Hey Now! I only put one post for you as a JokE
fastcat02 02-16-2002, 12:19 AM I got mine to the M in MPH. Gotta love those Cat 100 mph speedos. Come on, bump em up to 120 mph. I know my Cat can go that fast http://www.snowmobileworld.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif HaHa just kidding http://www.snowmobileworld.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
Sharkey 02-16-2002, 08:30 AM Put in a Doo 130 mph speedo, or an older Doo 160, they had that in the 80's already. http://www.snowmobileworld.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif *http://www.snowmobileworld.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif
mxz500 02-17-2002, 11:39 AM 125 mph my acaura intergra.......and 100 mph on my 98 mxz5. http://www.snowmobileworld.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
paul yarek 02-17-2002, 11:58 AM mxz500,
*yours will go faster than mine, how much do you weigh ? i am 235 maybe that is it ?
ballsout1 02-17-2002, 01:42 PM 175, on speedo, lost my nerve, big bore kawasaki ZX11.. kinda makes this snowmobile stuff silly..
ballsout1 02-17-2002, 01:52 PM Hey its 230 sunday, Daytona 500 is on, just to keep things in perspective... snowmobiles dont lend themselves to big speed numbers, what is the land speed record? isnt it something like 650http://www.snowmobileworld.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif *I wonder if anybody has run a sled at the salt flats? I picture a twin turbo big big triple on alky to keep it cool all carbon fiber with a small load of nitro in it running like 100 idlers and a ashphalt track and dudes in white suits trying to chase it down....dam, I`m lookin for a new hobby after this sheet arse winter..
RUNNER 02-17-2002, 02:18 PM I have a 02 zr 600 efi that will do 95 to 98 in 3000 ft on radar.
there are three more in our group and the fastest one goes 100 but the rider is 145 lbs. So I think it is time for a brand switch but sorry no Doos.
johncorneillie 02-17-2002, 03:13 PM I have a Z-120 that gets 22-24 mph. on radar. It's also for sale. Kids are to big to ride. http://www.snowmobileworld.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
chobby 02-19-2002, 02:25 PM 99 zrt 800 all stock 126 mph on blackmagic speedo. but i know she has alot more *because that day i got smoked by a stock xcr 800 and almost got beat by a stock 700. i fixed all arctic-cats screw up with aftermarket parts but haven got a across the lake yet. hope i see those guys again. #### 99's
Little green sixer 02-19-2002, 05:55 PM I had my little ZR 600 EFI going over 100 mph last weekened. It was about a quater of an inch past the 100, I was impressed. http://www.snowmobileworld.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
fastcat02 02-19-2002, 08:59 PM http://www.snowmobileworld.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif Let me just say........ I HAVE SEEN GOD. Now that is fast http://www.snowmobileworld.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif
I got my ZR600 up to an estimate 117mph on the speedo going down a very long Ice Road (It goes for 40 miles across a lake). *My buddy behind me on a SKS700 said I just let him in the dust.
Granted I had a spanking new D&D clutch kit installed.
However I am well aware that these speedo's are not very acurete. *But i tell you I was moving, kinda of gave me a fright when I realized how fast I was going.
newf
ZRT600MtnCat 02-20-2002, 07:44 AM I forgot, 400 MPH or something like that. Whatever the 747 Intercontinental flights do over the Ocean.
00_catman 02-27-2002, 07:40 PM Not sure if I believe any of you guys over 130mph.
00_catman 02-27-2002, 07:42 PM Thats on a snowmobile, that is.
Scott Wright 02-28-2002, 03:40 PM All these speeds are Radar or GPS.
2000 and 2001 ZR440SP 102mph,
2002 ZR440SP *106mph,
1999 Polaris XC500 102mph
1997 Polaris XC700 111mph
1996 Arctic Cat ZRT 600 * 114 mph
1994 Polaris XLT 106 mph
1990 Yamaha Exciter 93 mph.
7c Wanna Be 02-28-2002, 04:21 PM 118 mph on a stock 96 t-cat 1/4 mi.
at union grove wi. dragstrip.
also I was impressed with 1/8 mi. speed of 97 mph.
Sled was stock except for ashphalt set-up
Sharkey 03-01-2002, 03:21 PM Shoot for 123 in quarter on tcat, and 105 in 1/8 mile on asphalt. You had a blast though I bet! Good going. Weather has to be cool though.
all out racing 03-03-2002, 07:49 PM Before i had the D&D big bore 720 in my 01 zr 500 LE the speedo used to go to the "m" in mph on the 100 mile speedo, but with the big bore and the black magic 130 speedo it goes about 1/8 inch past 130 and the clutching is not even spot on yet.
SKI-DOOD 03-04-2002, 12:13 AM Ya what ever (all out of racing), i bet you but bat wings on it and park it in the bat cave at night right.
Should call yourself Cat women *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif * http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif * http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif
machz69 03-04-2002, 06:54 AM lol....hi guys. i know what the speedo says but thats not realy what your doing. but anyhow.... my stock machz2000 with an asphalt track ran 121 mph in the 1/4 and 105mph in the 1/8th in thwe winter ...well its all over the place...lol depending on where were running. anywhere from 99 mph to 119 mph so thats hoe much it can vary.mabe even a little more on an ice track hard to say.
rotaryvalvesrule 03-04-2002, 07:47 AM I WAS AT A RADAR RUN IN CABLE WI. THIS WEEKEND. THERE WAS A 2003 900 TWIN THERE. HE RAN 99 M.P.H. IN 1000' I THOUGHT THAT WAS PRETTY GOOD FOR A STOCKER,CONSIDERING THERE WAS A STRONG HEADWIND. JUST FOR YOUR INFORMATION.
all out racing 03-04-2002, 08:50 AM Hey i said on my speedo and u know how those things are probably with a radar gun it was goin 120. http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/withstupid.gif *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/withstupid.gif it was a long run too prolly about 1 1/2 to 2 miles.
SKI-DOOD 03-04-2002, 09:02 AM When you get out of the diapers (all out of racing) i'll meet you in a doo dealership and introduce you to a real sled
all out racing 03-04-2002, 09:06 AM Are u gettin a fever there ski-spook? *I mean a ski-doo a real snowmobile??? U should be a comedian. http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif
all out racing 03-04-2002, 09:16 AM Are u jelous ski-spook i said it was on the speedo and everyone knows there about 10-13 miles off on top-end. I've never got mine on a radar gun so i used what i got on my speedo and mine are D&D mod 720 power valve one in a 01 zr 500 le and the other one is on a 01 sno-pro.
SKI-DOOD 03-04-2002, 09:25 AM Yes all out of racing thats the response we wanted to here i wish i could be you for just one minute, its been a life long dream of mine. and those sleds wow, you are the man.
what would the world of sledding be with out the king of racing. *that is you da man
not
all out racing 03-04-2002, 09:38 AM I would never want u to be me as u would just be an embarassment to my snowmobiles. But it does'nt hurt to dream a little ah there ski-spook? i mean u should know u probably do it all the time with u and ur mack z winning all the sno-cross races.
machz69 03-04-2002, 09:43 AM lol *again and again.... we dont need to keep trashing each other just say what u think and say your point and end it. when it comes down to pissing every off . the moderator should just bann that person. and on that note...... a couple of weak ago we where doing radar runs and a guy on a zr 600 came thru the gun. on his speedo he said he was doing 120mph plus. the needle was right past the a in arctic cat he came thrue at90mph so just a little food for thought.
phazerhater 03-04-2002, 10:20 AM He had to be spinning like a MO-FO or something. *The cat speedos are way off, but not 30mph off! *From what I have seen on GPS, they are about 10mph off once the you are hooked up and have no track spin/slipping, give or take a couple mph.
machz69 03-04-2002, 11:30 AM hi there phazer: *the fastest we had a zrt6 up to on hard packed snow is 95 mph. so what does the speedo say on thoes sleds im shure that it dsnt just say 150km they always roll right into the arctic sign.
phazerhater 03-04-2002, 12:13 PM In an wide open run(a mile or better)average speed is around 110mph on GPS. *That is with a stock sled aside from clutching. *On mine it speedo showed the "T" or "I" in Arctic, so that would be off by "roughly" 10mph or so...
You should be able to get better than 95mph with a ZRT 600. *Even the new ones(which are turds in stock form) will do better than that.
What(if anything)has been done to that ZRT and what year is it?? *It needs help! http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
PS *My old man just picked up one of those little GPS units, a great little toy! *No more waiting for the radar. http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif
machz69 03-04-2002, 12:23 PM thats pretty good u should bring your sled up this way cause im running about that. and iv won a fiew speed runs. over thunders (thats stock one and modifies ones) xcr 800 srx 700 . just to name a fiew http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif
phazerhater 03-04-2002, 12:25 PM Remember though, I'm not talking 1000' or even 2000', I said OVER A MILE OR SO. *In 1000' i'm running about 97mph-98mph. *I usualy take first or second at the speed runs(in my class)but it is amost always very close.
dpaige 03-04-2002, 01:14 PM I hit 88mph on my Magellan GPS today, riding my 93 phazer.
My sister did 61mph on her 2000 Z370
I bought the GPS to test the top speed of my 95 Storm but the #### thing broke the drive chain and I couldn't get a replacement.
I didn't think the phazer was that fast, the only mod is a DG pipe.
I still don't really believe that speed. *Anybody think there is a problem? *that's aweful fast for 485 fan!
Anyone know how fast a stock 95 Storm should be?
Little green sixer 03-05-2002, 12:32 PM I went to a radar run on the weekened with some buddies and I had my 00ZR600EFI topped out at 93mph. That was on a 1400ft run. I am not sure if that is any good or not. http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif
Sharkey 03-05-2002, 12:41 PM If the radar run was at an altitude of 8000 ft. above sea level it would okay. http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/nervous.gif
phazerhater 03-05-2002, 12:45 PM sixer, I have a friend with the same year ZR(accept carb model) and he is running high 90's in 1000' at 0-2000' elevation if that gives you some comparison... http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif
Granted, his is running top notch and is dialed in "perfect" for 1000'!
Little green sixer 03-05-2002, 01:06 PM I have no idea what level above sea level I am. I don't know if it would make a difference but it was a real warm day. So I don't think the sled was running good
'02 ZL600 SS efi 03-06-2002, 06:46 AM My '02 ZL600 SS efi hit 100 in 1/4 mile and by 4/10ths of a mile speedo was buried on m in mph. Why does Cat only go to 100 mph on their speedo? I must point out that I could not have had better conditions than that day. Sled was really hooking up well. The best it ever has. Thanks to efi, I was able to do this on a 38 degree day.
Little green sixer 03-07-2002, 06:09 AM The new cats have those power vales on them that makes a bid diff. I don't have them. I do have aftermarket pipe, chip, can and clutch. I think I should have gotten a better speed.
phazerhater 03-07-2002, 07:58 AM You should have with those mods. *What brand are you running, D&D?? *I would give whoever you bought it from a call, cuz that is lower than it should be.
foxracing6900 03-07-2002, 12:29 PM I got my 1996 ZRT 600 going to the c in cat on the speedometer. I was on the ice with 164 studs i think. I dont know how many mph that is, probably 120. Today i raced a mxz 800 and we took off the start the same, then i lost by about half a sled length.
Team_Arctic 03-07-2002, 10:47 PM I got my AC EXT 550 goin bout 125-130 the other day it took about a mile but i got it i got clocked at 105 in 1000' *on soft stuff *so im not to far off of the zrt's
Little green sixer 03-07-2002, 11:50 PM Ya I got all D&D aftermarket for my sled. I think I will call and find out whats going on. I spent enough money I should be getting something out of it.
speed is everything 03-31-2002, 01:40 AM TEAM_ARCTIC either share it or get off of it. A 2003 zr900 only runs 100mph in 1000ft, but your wifes ext 550 ran 105mph. Did you teach blair morgan how to ride. lol * * http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif
acatluva128915 03-31-2002, 07:54 PM I've had my 02' T-Cat up to 130 mph.
performancex 04-01-2002, 04:54 PM Ha ha! *Littlegreen6er, I believe Sharkey was making fun of ou!
phazerhater 04-01-2002, 09:10 PM Does being in an F-16 count for the top speed? http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif
Steven Hohman 04-01-2002, 10:51 PM PH....how fast have you gone in an F-16?.....those can do about mach 2, right?
liquid600 04-01-2002, 11:36 PM EDGE 500 xcsp...............105 mph
|
