: Riding 2-up On A 1 Person Sled!?

Info First: I ride a 99 ZR 600 EFI (STOCK)

Unfortunately, I only have 1 sled and quite often I’ll go out with the girlfriend :inlove: on the back of mine. I weigh 150 lbs (6’4” and skinny as a twig :( ) and my girlfriend is 90-95 lbs.

Ideally I would like to get another sled to eliminate the double riding but unitl then how would I adjust the spring tension. I know about the little triangle piece that allows the 3 different spring settings. (Don’t know the name of that piece) Should I crank that piece to the max spring tension? If I do that the spring will wear out a lot quicker wouldn’t it?

Would the springs have to be rebuilt more often?

Any SUGGESTIONS ???

Thanks
SORRY about all the questions ???

sno n,
you won't wear the springs out. looks like you and your little darling :inlove: there weigh as much combined as i do myself. i'd say just crank the spring up one from where it is now to accommodate two.

Paul is right ! I have my springs cranked because I'am a lucky 235lbs of solid rock beer gut.So you 2 should be all set. And no I do not know the name of that triangle either maybe TRI SUSPENTION SETTING :p sounded good!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll tell you what. Since I have a two up, that seldom has a passanger on it, I could just take you girlfriend for you ;)

Acutally, I think Paul is right, one setting at the most, you may not even need to do that. Try it without making an adjustment first.
And no, you won't wear out your springs any faster.

Thanks for the info !!!

I can go home from work here and tell my girlfriend I learned something at work, the suspension thing is called a "Block Spring Adjuster." :D

I had my shocks rebuilt at the beginning of last season. Earlier I asked if the springs would wear faster with 2 people riding. I guess what I meant to say is, would I need to have the shock rebuilt more often with 2 riders vs. 1 rider.

Thanks
