i am not even sure what kind of sled i want to look for. i have been looking at some 2004 polaris and ski-doo models. i notice the 550 fan cooled seem to be going for aound 4600-5400 and know the new indy 500's are going for 5300. Are there any good sled for under 5500 american. I was told i could go to canada and get a deal but how much cheeper i dont know? Also anyone know how good of a deal i can get on any 03 models? any info will help
thanks mark

I checked that also and I think that if I could buy one today it would be a Polaris. Something with the 600cc ves liberty engine. Engines seems well built and reliable.
But correct me if Im wrong. I like their switchback models since it would fill my needs.

F5 firecat, IMO best bang for the buck, lightweight and will keep up with 600's SWRules

If you're willing to spend $5,500 US, there are ALLOT of great used sleds out there for that price. I'm sure you could find a great sled with under 1000 miles and less than a year old for well under that price even.
You need to narrow your search down some though. ???

ok here is what ive found so far in norhtern michigan at spicers boat city 4 hours from my house
all 2003 models
z570 fan 3,599
z570 esr fan 3,999
zl550 esr 4,699
zl550 3,999
f5 firecat 4,999
mxz trail 500 4,499
polaris 500 classic
polaris supersport fan
polaris indy 500

I know most of the prices are good but they didnt have a clearence price on the polaris models yet. But for now i am leaning toward the zl550. Do the fan cooled motors run as good as the liquid cooled motors? And does anyone think i will be able to get the sled's cheeper than the advertised price on the net or get any accessories with it for free? ive never bought a new sled only used ones. Also anyone every go to canada to buy a sled i have heard i could get better deals there. I am going to the local shop's and will update dont think they will deal very good though.

If I was you I'd look real close at the F5 and MXZ 500. Those are both great running little sleds and seem to be close to what you are looking for.

Depending on your riding, I would take liquid-cooled over fan.

snowmobiler7c,.....if you are looking for service after the sale.
and belive me IT'S IMPORTANT.
spicer's will forget your name before you leave the lot.
there are plenty of good dealers in norther mi,
find one who will rember you 6 month's down the road.

Around my neck of the woods there are plenty of new 02s left. I would lean towards a ZR or MXZ. And remeber that you get full warrany with them!
