I had a friend of mine at a Cat dealer run a search on the serial # of the Triple Touring I'm buying, and it came back that there was some warranty work with the hood. But the info didn't say exactly what happened. I asked the owner about it, and he said there were some spider web cracks (in the paint I suspect) when he bought it. Also said he tried to get Cat to replace it, but they wouldn't. But the dealer, Spicers Boat City, in Houghton Lake, MI, repaired it for him. I'm just wondering if anyone knows of any common problems (like a shipment of hoods that might have been affected) concerning this issue.

I haven't heard of any, I will call the dealer I go to and ask him. Get back to ya.

i had a 2000 zrt, and put 2800 miles on it,
and had no problem's with the hood. :thumbsup:

No reported problems, looks like it was an isolated incident.
