My in-laws want to buy one of my sleds. WHat should I ask for it? It is a 2002 700xcsp bought new out of the crate a year ago. Mint condition with 400 miles. Extras include polaris cover and two wind shields. I'm thinking 4,500 to 4,800? I want to get a fire cat. What are they getting in your areas for a 2004 F7 regular suspension?

Thanks

Average retail for the 700 XC SP is 5200. That doesn't include the cover and windshields (though you wouldn't probably get much for them). Depends on what kind of deal you want to give your in-laws.

Rule #1, don't sell to or buy from family!!! :p

Based on auction results and prices on leftovers, I would say somewhere around $4500 would be good for you. I wouldn't price it according to "avg values" that are found in books such as NADA...those values are usually based on % of depreciation, instead of recent/timeley market results. I know of a dealer that has a leftover '03 std F/C 700 for $6249.00, if that helps.

jim,
in that situation i think your rule is out the window because if he is going to sell a sled that big to his in-laws he wants to kill them. LOL

LOL Paul....do you guys up there also have the saying, "if you can't make money on your family, then who can you make it on!" You have to make money on them, because they are the ones that will expect you to take care of them night and day. :D

Well they are actually my X-Inlaws. So maybe Paul has the right Idea  Thanks for the input. I'm still debating weather the F7 is worth the $3,000 upgrade.
