Haha...don't sweat it...its a tough question to answer because they are all made for the same type of riding, and there is no one sled that out performs the rest. Its a very broad question that lends itself to brand loyalty, since there is no other way to choose.

You've got the revs...light, agile, high output engines, some reliability concerns

You've got the F-series cats...light, agile, high output engines, some reliability concerns

You've got the proX...light, agile, high output engines, reliability seems ok

And the RX-1...agile, high output engine, a little heavy for ditch banging and snoX

So...which one does a guy choose? Maybe a favorite colour? Maybe a favorite dealer? Maybe the same one all your buddies have?

See what I mean? Its a really broad question. What are you interested in finding out? Maybe all you want is a poll to see who would buy what?

straycat,
there might still be a few that want to fight on this subject but this one has been hashed and rehashed so many times i think toby keith and willy nelson will be writing a another duo about it.

all the sleds mentioned have there own pros and cons. myself i am not a rev fan so that one is out. polaris have really been coming on strong in the last couple of years with there new sleds. i have found myself actually looking at them for the first time ever. now that brings us to the other 2 f7 and rx1. i am a big fan of both sleds. they are again both unique in the own way. both awesome sleds.

Man, everyone has been so docile toward each others brands! Where is the cats suck, and pols look like cr_p, and oh ya, everyone HATES the yellow ones! That leaves the rx. I can't wait to get back on it! Looks so lonely sitting in the garage. Never thought I would like a yammy then I rode one!
Let the bashing begin!!

never been on a RX1 yet, but i like the firecat. the rev i have to admit had one sweet rear suspension, not sure how it will be this year with no beaver tail. Maybe didnt make a difference in the first place but i just didnt feal as comfortable on the rev for trial riding as i did the prox or firecat. the prox 800 i was on last year felt very stiff, way too stuff for me and it didnt handle very well on tight corners. inside ski was always a foot in the air. the guy who owns the sled actually rolled it that very day. But i am sure he just had the sled adjusted wrong. Felt like it had no suspension at all. he just had the wrong set up for sure, because 2 of my buddies do have the xc package and they are very nice sleds to ride.

I like the RX-1 for one thing, no messing with two stroke oil. That means I can take it into Yellowstone, as well as have something with some punch to play on other trails. Since I'm primarily a trial runner, weight is not an issue.

wow i cant believe it, things are staying calm on this one. if this was about 7 months ago, corey would have to bring in the national gaurd to calm everything down and declare a state of emergency. SWRules

Well I'll probably never be able to own a current model sled, I'm greatful for my 98', but from what I can read, those are all really nice sleds. Conventional looking sled style I like the complete package look of the F-cat. Polaris looks a little more reserved, but maybe they make it up in reliability. Yamaha from the handle bars forward are very aggressive looking, they have a refined gentle men look to them. And the rev is starting to grow on me the more I read and see them, thank god the beaver tail is gone. It is fun to watch sw members flame easch other on this topic. Wish I had some seat team on all of those.

Wow a nonbiased answer to a simple question straight forward right to the point.
Best post I've read in a long time! :)

Where is all the bashing ? Over at AMSNOW. It can stay there as far as i'm concerned. Some of us are a little tired of going over this time and time again. The way I look at it is that each manufacture brings something new, unique or different to the market. Sure you may not like it but if every one liked the same thing would we really need anything more than an Indy 500? Yammy has given us a unique look into what a performance 4 stroke can do. Sure it's not perfect but they were the first to go as far as they did and show us a 4 stroke can put a smile on a lake racers face. Doo has brought forth the Rev chassis which has shown us that there is a new way to ride a snowmobile. No the styling is not for every one and neither is the ergo's. Cat has shown its hand with what is imo one of the most agile sleds pound for pound, horse power for horse power for a hard core ditch rider, although reliability was a question mark for some. Polaris is the first to market what i will go out on a limb and say is the closest thing one can buy to a racer off the showroom floor with the new XR or what ever it's called. Again like the Rev the styling and ergo's are not for everyone but give credit where credit is due. I could go on and on about how Bombi revitalized the cross over segment with the Renagade or how Cat showed us a big twin can win big on the lakes etc but i'd rather not. The "my sled is better than your sled" arguement will never end and it shouldn't since it does add a certain amount of fun to the sport. Just remember where we would all be if we didn't have manufactures who weren't afraid to listen to the market and let there designers dream out side the box. Driving Indy 500's
