Hi i was just wondering what the cost for the ofsc's trail permit is going to be. I have heard rumours and they are all different prices?

I read on the forum somewhere that the price will be $160. With the way insurance companies have been taking advantage of sledders in general :cussing: , the increase seems reasonable. Hopefully frivolous claims will go down.

jawz,
oh i think your wishes will happen because of the way the new signage and trails are designed. the trails are designed so that if there is an accident on the trails in most cases it will be easily proven to be rider error. excessive speed is what the trails are designed to stay away from, the trails are designed for 50 km now.

I just don't understand why the OFSC can't have a lawyer draft up something in writing that clearly states if you use these trails and injury, damage or whatever, they are in no way shape or form held liable for your actions. Think about it, you go to a sporting event that clearly states this on the back of the ticket and there hasn't been any major lawsuits, afew years ago a young girl got hit by a puck and died later from this and there where no lawsuits, she did'nt sign anything, where as if you buy a permit you have to sign your John Henry. Spend the money and draft something like this and clean this CRAP up!

3eyed,
your ideas are correct and are the way it should be. the problem is the judge that takes the stand that day of court, it's usually all up to him no matter what the rules are. what i think the ofsc are trying to cut down on are the cracks in the system to make it harder to have a ruling against them.

I don't have problem with the permit price at all, for the amount I ride its good value. But these lawsuits are not going to go away because of a red sign telling you " ride at your own risk". Sledders need to be locked into a legal and binding contract the moment we sign on the dotted line, what a particular judge thinks that day in court will mean nothing. THE LAW IS THE LAW.....

3eyed,
i can tell you haven't had much to do with the law and court system, i have. a real good friend of mine is a court administrator {the boss} will tell you that there is no law it is all what the judge feels like listening to that day.
