WOW this subject has been beat!!

Kind of an off the wall question here but, seems like these pistons need to be heat cycled 4 or 5 times to get them to stabilize?? How about running them through an oven a few times before assembly?? say up to 500 deg then cool down and repeat.

Any thoughts??

I am prolly going to go the wiseco route, just looking for every bit I can get.

speed is everything

It will take alot more than 4 or 5 cycles for the pistons to settle to their final size. Just make sure you let her warm up and check your end gap and your piston clearance when you put them in and you will be O.K. Personally i moly coated the skirts and ceramic coated the domes to help control the heat cycles.

Thanks for the response.

I am planning on getting them moly and ceramic coated.

I just wasn't sure if they would take a "set" after a few heat/cooll cycles.

Will be carefull!
