Hello: This might seem unethical and I kinda feel creepy asking... ...Does anyone know of a starting point to play with on a Mach z 700 on the primary side? ...not too concerned with secondary details... What times would be expected to be competetive?...mph? :sarcasm: Joe

krusty, I am running a 700 improver on asphalt, running 6.5's in 660 now. Looking for more on clutching. Reving 9500 on tach. 96 chassis 98 motor.

My mistake guys... its an 800 improver. Full Blown "whatever that means"

full blown = pieces outside the crankcase half blown = crankcase remained intact with the carnage inside

5 teens to 5 twenties at 95 mph.

What rpm do the pipes and porting work at??I would guess that a 286 ramp with 250-to 280 lbs initial with a finish of 350-380 with about 19 grams of pin weight. How about a 54-48 or 54-50 helix with 21-22 top and 43-44 bottom. In this sled a 280 ramp might be the best if it is for grass or ice,not sure about asphalt though.for longer distances we always had best luck with 286 or 301 ramps.I have basically an amature improved stock mach z that works best at 8600rpm and that is what i run with alittle less spring tension, you will probably need 20-22lbs on the secondary as well.

Heh... I call it "fishing" lol I don't have a clue what to run in a sled like this...I do have a picture in my head of what will be in his secondary when Im done though....and it won't be anything close to what is mentioned above. I'm gonna bet that there is gonna be a huge spread of angles required. :inlove: Right off the bat, I am sooooo happy this guy has a roller secondary. Basically, this is another guy who emailed me about being a "consultant" on what is going on with his sled. He's got a brand new engine ported and it just spent time on Supertuner's Inertia Dyno. Im gonna get a fax of his latest curves & number data sheet with having resolution of every 50 rpm from idle to peak. I was mailed again saying that he's using his old clutch setup [Which I have no idea what it is] and he will type out his notes from what he found. So really, regardless of what he has in the sled, this is where I feel I shine..."troubleshooting" I just want to know: 1]What his belt deflection is like. 2]What his engagement is 3]What clutch temperature is like 4]what does engine do going down the track?..... 5]bogs when hooks up? what kind of bog is it? Hollow or does rpm lay right down? 6]Peak rpm 7]... 8].... ...etc. Im gonna load him with questions and he'll just fill out the answer and get back to me. HAHAHA... I'll look at his clutching details and try to correlate the data with his answers. heheheh...then I'll send him a helix and instruct him to "make it work" LOL I've helped a few small fry's this way and they've been a little thorn in the side of some big-guys. Normally I would turn this down as it is painstaking, but since he was on that inertia dyno, i've got some curiosities about pipe heat and other things that his testing will help me build data upon.

Joe- I DOO consulting work for MOST DOO's-LOL- just call. I would start with 286 ramps on clickers 1 or 2 and adj. the primary weight/spring around that base line- if its an f-chassis use the 067 belt, gear DOWN if its a high revver and I think ya got the secondary figured out-LOL- what power did it make on the dyno??-BJ :withstupid:
