Are any of you having a problem the with outer edge of the running board [rollup] destroying the outside of your boots. I rarely have my feet in the footwells, its not the running board thats the problem, but the outside edge thats just shredding my boots. I know there a number of products out there like snoslips, Fett brothers has some made out aluminmun. This is for a 03 zr. Someone told me just to file them down a bit, but I rather install something then start hacking away. Any suggestions?

Are these edge rail grips, or something that is built into the running boards themselves? I know the guy I just got my '99 from mentioned that he only runs plastic edge rail grips as the metal ones just eat up his boots. However, I wouldn't hesitate to file the inside edge down on mine if they are built into the running boards themselves. Sure beats buying new boots all the time

I run the Aluminum Grips as well as the rest of the people I ride with. I have had ZERO problems with the Aluminum ones with my boots getting torn up. The Aluminum IMO is better and grips the bottom of the boot better than the Plastic ones. NO SLIPPING off the Aluminum ones period!

That is my opinion as well. However I think it ultimately comes down to what softness of rubber compound your boots are really. I've seen these grips and there is no denying that it can tear up your boots depending on what type of boots you have. I'm actually wanting to change my plastic ones over to the metal ones, but I don't intend on spending money on the other ones until I try out the ones that are already on the sled :sly:

I have had these for 3 seasons and no problems with mine. I am wearing Trukk Boots that are I think 8 years old and they still look like new on the bottoms and sides. Who knows why you guys are getting your boots torn up, I have nothing but great reviews for the Trukk's I own! Good luck!
my boots are have gone through 2 seasons. i actually just went down stairs to check them out to see if its not happeneing to my boots. they were fine, i also have my old boots that are at least 8 yrs old, i also see very limited sing of wear on them. For the record, my boast are CKX.

I'm pretty it's just the way I ride, when I set up for a corner I like to pull my feet out of the wells and I guess the outside of my boot tends to rub up on the edge. I'm sure its not the quality of the boots I have, give me the best boots on the market and I'll shred them to. I tried to keep my feet in the wells for a full day,and I know it stopped the problem, but I'm just not comfortable going hard into a corner with my boots tucked up in the wells, I want them right under me. I plan on buying some new boots this year so I want to resolve this problem some how...
3 eyed, seems like we ride the same way. i never go into a corner hard with my fleet i the wells. i always seem to be swticthing up, and sliding my feet around. u must have some real heavey feet.

Dawg, maybe it is my boots then, they are ckx's as well and there done. The bottoms are fine ,but outside corner going up half way to the top right around the small toe area is done like dinner. Question? do you push out your foot when you taking a corner, so lets say your taking a hard left hander do push out on your right foot?
