hey guys, i ride cat and a few bodies of mine ride doo and and polaris. seems like i am always playing with my clutches. seems like me and my dad are constantly playing with our clutches but the poo and doo guys dont seem to bother much with them. maybe they just dont care, not sure but is it that cats need more clutch tunning done through out a whole season to keep them performing the way they should. ???

i'll add a poll to this one to make it easy to see what u guys think is the easiest sled to keep dialed in. ???

Im a ski-doo guy and the blood runs yellow but I voted for Yamy. I always like to trade sleds with people when we ride or when I am just out, I like to run someone else's sled to see what they feel like.

I have always enjoyed Yamaha's clutching probably bar-none over any. I like the springs they use, the secondary design, the splined shaft deal...and I never seen a tougher primary than a Yamy which was beat in watercross. I seen comet, HRP, P-85's all burn the stubs and/or actually had material erode away on the sheave surface from hot belts and never seen a Yamy primary do this. This Yamy sled had all brands of primary on this sled and pushed approx 200 hp.

I have always seen cool secondary temperatures...
...and for Yams not having the largest hp brand for brand, they sure pull their weight around easily. Being this as it may, I believe that Yamy would pull ahead in Maintenance & reliability in the secondary department. I would rank the AC secondary as a super-close second to the Yam secondary. Ac with its nice roller design and like Yamy, every secondary spring on the market fits....
helix's cheapy cheapy...

...in the primary department though I would have to say the TRA out does all for being a rugged clutch which gets long bushing life, long button life and easily affordable to tune with clicker design and simple addition of set screws.

I think the problem and the advantage to the tra is that there are so many tunining variables. Granted, its bulletproof, but if your gonna race, kep track of your notes....dam, 20 or 30 ramps, 20 or 30 springs, 20 or 30 helixes, ok a few secondary springs, but oh well you get the idea...... theres alot ya can screw up. The polaris clutches all I can say is so little selection on ramp, (pol speak weight, well it doubles as weight) and their real consistant performers. I`m surprised what polaris guys doo with it. i know jack about cat and yammi, butthe cat stuff for whatever reason blows up al;ot, and the yammi stuff, when its one, at least on grass on a srx is tough to beat.... my opinion..
