I see the NON HO 800 in the REV had 136-138hp vs the 131-134hp in the ZX chassis, most likely due to pipe refigurations

So can it be conceived that the small block 600(not HO) have more hp in the Rev vs the ZX chassis

They had to design new pipes for it to make it fit in the REV right ???

It might be a good bet for it to have 2-3 more hp over the ZX chassis

BTW too bad no 500 SS Renegade

IF you are referring to the Blair Morgan I believe I saw a thread that that is the HO motor - just not called that. Can anyone confirm that? I believe that you will find that the 600 in the 500ss is very close if not exactly the same as the old 600. Not to whine though, heck their charging you for a 500. That's a lot of extra ponies for the money!!!

that 500 SS is going to be the best bang for the buck in 2004.

 It could very well be the machining inconsistancies with the rotax motors, like the heads with all different squish characteristics. :withstupid:

it is the same mill as the 99-2000 600 mxz/legend.

That motor had 106-108 hp rating for the 99.I had good luck with mine and was quite happy with the performance right up until the time I traded it in this past spring.

For the 800 hp references I did NOT use the Blair Morgan BTW

New snowtech 137.3hp for the 03 Rev8

Ams shootout it dynoed around 137 and another one ahd it at 138hp

And most ZX chassis 800s were 131-134hp

This is why I am curious on the hp of the small block 600 in the Rev vs the ZX chassis

As they needed to build a new pipe to make it fit in the Rev

I am just curious, that is all

Yes I do agree that this sled might be the best value on the market :sly:

As for the ZX 600small block -99-02 MXZ 600/00-01 FormulaDeluxe 600/00 FZ 600/02-03 Legend/00-03 GT600/02 Renegade 600/99-02 Summit 600

The 03 MXZ 600 Adrenalin/Renegade(zx chassis) had the HO btw, friends wife has the 03 MXZ 600 Adrenalin :)

The 99 600MXZ motor differed from the 2000 and up because it had the cast cyl sleeve, the 2000 and up went to nicasil lined cylinder {runs cooler more ponies}.

Is anyone actually buying a 500SS? I wonder what kind of production numbers skidoo is doing for this sled?

I was told my 02 MX Z 600 did NOT have NiCaSil cylinders. Are you sure it changed ?

the only difference between the 2000 and the 99 is the coupling block in the suspension and the piston are 'coated 2000 pistons" The 99 had non coated pistons, hence why they had a major "scuffing" problem. I have a 99 and had to replace the pistons and bore the cylinders :hallo1:

I'll probably be buying a 500ss next week. :D My local dealer got 8 sleds 1 600 ho, 1 800 ho, and at least 6 500ss(3 adrenaline, 2 trail, and 1 gsx).

I think i'll post the question about the cast vs nicasil in the 600 series 3 engine and see what the concensus is.I was pretty sure I had read they went to nicasil in 2000 as one of the improvements, since I had a 99 I kept up on that sled.
