Hi Guys,

Does anyone know what the torque specs are for a 2002 Polaris Edge 700 primary and secondary clutch bolts? I am changing my springs. Has anyone changed the primary spring without removing the clutch from the sled?

The spec for the primary is 40-45 ft. lbs. re-tourque after first period of operation. The spec for the secondary clutch is15 ft. lbs. I would suggest buying the correct puller and using this to get the cluch off the shaft. It is money well spent. Changing the spring can be done without removing the clutch....It's important to put it back together properly. If you must do it while still on the shaft, mark the cover plate and tower with a marker so you can put it back the same way.

2blu7, Those torque specs are they for the centre bolt? What about the six small bolts on primary? I am trying to decide between to clutch combos.

Combo 1- Buying the erlandson pro clutch kit, which includes weights, helix, primary and secondary springs.

Combo 2- Keep stock helix, weights and secondary spring and just change primary spring to Polaris almond/blue.

Yes, they are for the center bolts. The cover plate bolts are tourqued @ 90 INCH lbs. or 10.3 Newton Meters. I have the almond blue in my 02 700 and am happy with it. I used the alm/blu with the Hot Seat Kit and am pretty happy with it. Are you stock or mod ? If you are changing any thing , the spring with stock carb and secondary set up should bring the rpm's down some. Please keep me posted on your progress. I like to swap tuning notes. Thanks 2blu7
