Hi Guys!! Just wondering if a Heelclicker clutch kit in a 1998 TRA off a 670 will fit on a 2001 MXZX 440. If clutch will not fit can I take the kit out and put it into my clutch? I appreciate any help!!!

sd175,

I would guess it depends on the crank taper on the 440 engine. If they are the same as the 670 you should be able to mount the whole 670 clutch. You may also be able to just mount the outer half to your 440 inner half. You can pull the outer halves of the two clutches and measure the dimensions on the inner half splined shaft.

As for the HC kit does your year of MXZx have the cut-down and lightened clutch sliding half? If so, I would guess the HC would not work because of the need to slot the outside of the sliding clutch half for the heel of the weights.

you can just swap out the two clutches. The 98 will fit on the 01 I put my 99 clutch with heel clickers on my 01 440. Did not do any testing with it though, just made a few pass on it and didn't have time to play around with it. Will probably try again soon on the grass and then on the ice.
