I need help deciding what track is best for my '99 ZRT 800 to help hook up all those mods i did to it. Right now i got the standard stock 15x121x.85 with 192 studs. It seems to hook and pull hard on ice and hard pack, but what i wanna do is improve powder, fluff, basically snow traction, but yet keep the same if not better traction on ice and hard pack. I was thinking of going to 1.25" track with studs. Would that be worth switching to? What style or type of 1.25 track would work the best. Does anyone have problems with studs ripping out since their longer on a 1.25 track? Any help would be great. Thanks

Greenman, If you plan going with the 1.25 and 192 picks be prepared to lose some topend, with out studs there pretty close [2-3mph's] to the lower lug tracks, but when you start to throw alot of studs into them it will really pull your topend down. I have a 03 zr-900 snopro which has the 1.25 [9818] and a 192 studs. I pulled it in favour of the standard 1" [9830] and 192 studs. I got my topend back and it worked good in loose snow, as for durabilty camoplast makes the best tracks, I had no problems punishing them with the 900. The 9818[39lbs] and 9830[34lbs] are the same staggered paddle design with the 1/4 in lug height being the only difference. Hope this helps......

Went with a 1 1/8 Camo finger, 192 1 1/4 studs on my '00 XCR8. Just like the stock track, it spins helplessly out of the hole on ice/hardpack, works OK after that. I saw no improvement over stock coming off the line on hard pack or while out playing in the soft stuff.

I'm thinking the paddle type will still spin on the hard pack, but have an advantage in the soft stuff? Anyway, that will be the way I go next time(paddle), probably 1" for hyfax life on the trails here in Mi., and the ability to run shorter studs for the corners and out on the lake. Primary usage probably best described as something between performance touring and aggressive trail.
