: Ontario Snowmobiler Magazine
paul yarek 09-11-2003, 01:26 AM i was wondering if anyone that is an ofsc permit holder has gotten their ontario snowmobiler magazine yet ? last year i only got one and i had to call for it because it was the trailmap edition that i wanted. the receptionist at the ofsc i hope was joking because she said there is one left when i called and she had to get it out of the restroom. it did come in the typical plastic wrap so i think she was just trying to get a rise out of me.
FreezerBurnt 09-11-2003, 03:46 AM Did it smell bad :sarcasm: :0: :p
Anyway I think you have to sign a portion of the trail permit registration to get the mag
But I could be wrong
IndySKS????
SLDRDR 09-11-2003, 09:13 AM I had the same problem last year as well. I bought my permit right from head office in Barrie(beside royal dist.) i signed the portion of the permit, so I would recieve the mags. But I haven't recieved anything this year yet, isn't it still a little early for them?
ZR Rider 09-11-2003, 09:46 AM Nothing here yet either Paul.
Going to be late like last year I guess.
They seem to have dropped the ball since the split. I like Supertrax better... besides, I get free ones everyonce in a while!! lol
paul yarek 09-11-2003, 12:07 PM i don't care as long as a get my trailmap edition. if i find out soon enough that everyone else is getting theirs in case i am not getting my magazine i can be on it when the trailmap edition hits the mail.
Apexaholic 09-11-2003, 12:13 PM I never get one and I sighn the form to recieve it every year.
We shall see next year if 160.00 is gonna give me a book.
I doubt it.

i hope so and i was real happy to see the trailmap magazine in the clear sheath. have you ever been in a public restroom and see guys come out of the stalls after leaving a poop then walk straight out without washing their hands ? i have and i always comment to them about it.
Paul, You should get your trail map book by November.
Grimm 09-12-2003, 05:52 PM I just got my magazine today Paul, but there is no trail map included. Are you sure it's supposed to be included in this issue?
I also received Snowgoer magazine too, I never subscribed to it, so is it possible both mags come with the purchase of a trail pass?
rob7374 09-12-2003, 05:59 PM For the price you have to pay for a pass in Onterio the least they can do is send you guys a magazine or two. With my pass here in Manitoba i always get the SnoRiders West magazine and for some reason Supertrax keeps sending me magazines.
lazalong 09-12-2003, 06:09 PM Got mine yesterday, no trail atlas yet. Don't forget to read the article on the Eliason one of a few sleds built in Ontario.

IndySKS 09-12-2003, 10:48 PM -Yes FreezerBurnt is right if you happened to not sign the ofsc portion you will not get the magazine.
-Mine came today
- the map addition is not until later in the fall ( if forget when as I don't hold too much faith in it )
- there is many possible reasons you might be missing getting your magazines , the mailing information is got off of your trail pass on the Goverment portion . It asks for your street # and name, how many people have postal boxes or live on a rual route ?...not always does the postal people know that 582 queen street is on RR# 6 or 783 John St. belongs in Po Box 378 ....see my point .
Another major problem is your hand writting ...some people just can't write and being the person who has to read it and enter all that info on the computer is not fun , my wife works for canada post ( that's how I know the postal side of things) and many times a year I have to get her to read the persons names it is so messy.
How accurate was the person operating the key board ? Not everyone types with no mistakes, I enter all the information on 550 permits every season on the computer for our Club....that's why they pay me the big bucks ...lol .
Also there is many numbers and letters when hand written look very similar B=8
i =1 A=R 2=Z ect. ect. I'll bet 1/4 of the VIN #'s I type in are wrong .
Have you moved ? Did you let the OFSC know so that they can change their info . I would also bet that the Ontario Snowmobiler Magazine only gets that info once a year for their mailing list and if it went to them wrong in July or August it may be wrong all year. Contacting the magazine might be you second option
Now my suggestion would be to contact the OFSC and verify that your information is correct if you are not getting the Magazine. Or you could contact your Permit Co- ordinator from the Club you purchased from last year ( another good reason to buy directly from a Club and not at the show or from the OFSC office ...cause I'll be Da**ed if I'll look up a show permit or replace one ) and ask them to look up your info and make any nessesary corrections.
I hope this helps SWRules
IndySKS 09-12-2003, 10:55 PM And just to make your day even worse ....for some reason I seem to get all the magazines for free , wifey bought me a years subsciption to Snow Go-ER once and it keeps coming , suppertrax just seems to show up and even Sno-west gets here ocasionally, I know there is others but i can't think of them right now....some people just seem to get all the brakes .
paul yarek 09-13-2003, 01:38 AM i fill out two of those every year and i put 44 king st north RR 4 scotland N0E 1R0. the problem must exist in the club itself because a rash of our people don't get the magazines.
when i called last year in january for the trailmap the receptionist was surprised because she said i am on the mailing list.
Formulaman 09-13-2003, 11:11 AM Paul I got the Snow-Goer and the OSM a day apart I usually get the trail atlas but I believe it's in the Dec. issue. the one that came is the Sep issue. One friend of mine usually gets his the same time as me and another friend gets his usually a week or so later. This is a big problem for me because every year I tell myself not to get excited too early for sledding, then the mags show up and well... to make a long story short the grass always catches hell!! ??? :( :nervous: :D
