I remember like it was yesterday. I was working on the new H2 plant with about 200 other electrician's there was about 600 or so construction workers coming and going. It was right before break and the news came on the stereo's placed thru out the project and we all stood in disbelief . I've never seen so many big burky construction guy's all soaked in sweat and dirty just standing there with such a look in shock you could have heard a pin drop through the whole building. we stopped for a long while and huddled around those radio's thru out the project and then many went home. I pray for nothing like this to ever happen again and that we learn from those that were so unselfish to help others get out and not once think of there own live's .. I hope if i am ever tested like that i can show courage honer and bravery as those who perished did. GOD BLESS THEM ALL AND MAY HE KEEP US ALL SAFE FROM THE COWARDS THAT REALM THIS EARTH IN SEARCH OF DESTROYING THOSE WHO SEEK FREEDOM AND LIBERTY

I got up to go into work that sad morning.
I never turn on the Tv , but for some reason that morning I turned it on .
Flicked through the channels and there it was live the second plane going in live.

I sat on the couch till 11.30 or so that day in disbelief, I still cant believe it.
Its like a bad dream but worse .

I had no friends or family that were lost in there but I pray for those that did.

I never thought of something like that happening in my lifetime, but now that it has I look at life alot differently.

I have gone through this in my mind all day, just like it was yesterday... I broke my ankle that weekend in a Motocross race. Was sitting on the couch, in a cast pissed off cause I couldn't do much. Then, the news flashed across the tv. Suddenly my broken ankle didn't feel so bad. What a terrible day!

hummm I was on a ferry boat going from matane to baie-comeau. I had give up my job at Bombardier transportation on sept 7 and was going to join my wife and son in baie-comeau after maybe 1 full month without seeing them...The tv on the boat was on a news channel and everyone was in front of it. I could not know what had happend really or where it had happened until the boat arrived. Once home it was impossible to miss what had happened.... :(

I was on an ambulance run at the time when i heard it on the radio that a plane has just hit one of the towers, and a little while later the second tower and the pentagon i was thinking oh my god whats going to happen next is this the next world war, then back at the station we sat around watching TV the rest of the day in shock, and heart broken for the people lost and freinds, family who were hurting so bad. Still everytime i see the footage i just cant believe it happened. ???

I was sitting at my new temporary desk when someone said a plane flew into the world trade center, we all thought it was another private plane that had problems. Like the last time. We ended up bringing in a tv and pretty much spent the day watching. Didn't get much work done.

Truly one of the All-Time best quotes:

In a recent interview, General Norman Schwartzkopf was asked if he didn't
think there was room for forgiveness toward the people who have harboured
and abetted the terrorists who perpetrated the 11 Sept attacks on America.

His answer was classic Schwartzkopf.

He said, "I believe that forgiving them is God's function. Our job is
simply to arrange the meeting."

On that dark day we released 7 radio collared hounds at about 6:45AM.
I was with a couple of guys from PA. Within 30-40 minutes we could here the dogs barking and set out to see what they found. They had a small bear (300-350lbs) about 40 feet up a tree. We decided to release the bear as he was pretty small and I really just wanted to Haze him as he was causing problems with my animal pens. When we pulled the dogs off the tree, and held them back you would not believe how quick that bear took off. By the time we got out of the Bush LadyK was telling us about what HAppened. It was definately a day I will never forget.
God bless all those involved. Jeff

I was working evenings then, so I was literally woke up by a phone call from a friend. I turned on the TV and watched in disbelief. I then made several calls of my own, first to my neighbour, then my high school friend, and finally my folks as I knew I was going to be on the phone with them for a long time. I can still remember clearly hearing my father's explosive response clearly despite being in a completely different part of their house from where my mother was sitting on the phone talking to me.

I do remember being numb in disbelief. Even to this day, I cannot put to words what I feel when I see that video replayed. If and when they do capture bin laden, I would love nothing more than to see him executed on prime time television.

I was at work that morning when we heard. It made everthing we did all seem so unimportant for the rest of the day. Went home numb and watched the TV with the wife and kids for the day and talked about it with them. The kids were 14 and 15 at the time. They knew what was going, but I don't think they had a clue what it would mean in great game of life. That Sunday we all went to church for the first time in quite awhile.

It's a day I'm sure none of us will ever forget. I was at work but went home to watch the news, got there just in time to see the second plane hit.

God bless all of those folks we lost that day.
Will the madness ever end?? Man I hope so and soon.

Peace to all of us..................

I was at work renovating an office building. we herd what had happened and turned on a tv in their staff room. then we could watch a steady line of planes flying over head heading to out local airport. they routed about 200 planes to newfoundland that day. and the people stayed everywhere from stadiums to schools . some of the smaller places in newfoundland had their population double for those few days. it is something that every Newfoundlander will never forget.

I was actualy in NYC and saw the whole thing happen, I was working for Bombardier Transportation at the time and we were working on getting the subway cars commisioned. I remember seeing smoke and wondering what building was on fire, because of all the tall buildings i couldn't see what was on fire, then we heard someone yell that the trade center was on fire so a bunch of us ran up onto the roof of the maintanance barn and we could see one tower burning, but because of all the smoke we never saw the second plane fly into the other tower. We all just stood there in shock and watched them burn, then the first tower fell, it looked like an atomic bomb exploded in lower manhatten, there was so much smoke in the air you couldn't see anything. It was so scary, nobody new what was going to happen next, everyone was scared, it seemed everyone around us had a loved one or a friend that worked in the towers and they all just fell to pieces, everyone was crying and calling out names, i can't even begin to describe what i was feeling, it was the most aweful thing i have ever been through. I have nothing to compare that feeling to, i have never served in a war, but after seeing over 3,000 people die right befor my eyes thats the only feeling i could compare it to, it was like being in a war zone. I will never ever forget that day, my thoughts and prayers are with all who lost loved ones.

I was stationed in the local school at the time as the School Liaison Officer for the Sheriff's Office and I had just walked out to my squad car to grab some paperwork when Dan, the High School History teacher yelled at me through his classroom window and told me that a plane just hit one of the World Trade Center Towers. I ran inside and sat with his class in disbelief. Then the second tower got hit and I knew then that we were under attack. I felt so disconnected from the shock and I did not know how to feel right away. That night I cried thinking about all the families that lost loved ones. I hope that they were able to find some peace in their lives. There was just no sense in killing 3047 people. Bin Laden and the rest can burn in he##. God Bless Us all.

I remember that day well also. My daughter had baby cereal for the 1st time and I was watching CNN for some reason or another. And they thought a small plane like a cessna lost control and hit the tower. Then while they were describing it the large boeing hit the tower straight on.
Terrible day....
