Hi guys, I'm building an improver out of my 94 Mach Z. I need to know what reeds will work best. I need a reed that has a design flow rate of 2000 mm2 and a natural frequency of over 150 Hz. I know I can make a V-Force 3 work, but what others have you guys had success with? Also what rpm does everyone spin theirs at? I'm looking at spinning at 9200 rpm right now, but if it will take more before going kerboom I will doo it. I need to know this before I port it and build the pipes. Thanks
Have a nice day :)

Hi ! I have built a 1995 mach-z 780 improved for my friend two years ago. It has stock bore and stroke. Was built with Crank-Shop imp. pipes. Reeds are V-ForceII
Was dynoed at 195 HP at 9300 rpm on a Superflow 901 dyno. Running on VP C-14 fuel.

210 hp seems a bit high for me. Shop like Crank-Shop do not claim numbers like that for a 780 Imp. I think they claim 195 hp for Imp. and maybe 200 hp for Pro-Stock with bigger carbs. Good luck !!!

The best engine I built was a 2000 XCR-800 Imp. It was dynoed at 200 hp at 9600 rpm with Crank-Shop pipes.

Wild thing, ya 210 seems high but most guys use the stock head. We are building our own and a few other tricks that will help out so I'm confident we will get 210. Also others I have talked to on other forums have dyno'ed at 206 + with the same BASIC settup. We are doing everything ourselves from pipes to carbs, heads to porting. This sh!t is fun.

To built everything must be fun for sure. I'd be very happy if I could built an engine like that ! Let me know how much you will get. Maybe if you have some "tricks" for sale I could be interested. We are not far from each other.

Good luck, Pierre
