It seems like there are more sledheads in this forum from Canda than from the U.S., so I thought it would be interesting to find out what the percentage is.

Canadian all the way. I love my country and wouldn't want to live anywhere else. Great beer and free heath care. Yes. It's also comforting to know that we Canadians have such good neighbors. Now just give me snow!

USA, Northeast Pennsylvania to be closer. Mostly ride around the house in the mountains and fields. Actually got around 1,600 miles that way last year. I'm starting to see more Tug Hill riders in the forum. I usually get up there a couple of times a year and enjoy myself, but much differant riding on the groomed trail (hard). My neighbor just bought a peice of property with a trailer on it so we have a place to stay while we're there, so will probably spend more MID-WEEK time up there this year.

Yup, you nailed that one :)

Proudly Canadian...

Joke that comes to mind:
An American, a Scot and a Canuk were in a terrible car accident. They were all brought to the same emergency room, but all three of them died before they arrived. Just as they were about to put the toe tag on the American, he stirred and opened his eyes. Astonished, the doctors and nurses present asked him what happened.

"Well," said the American, "I remember the crash, and then there was a beautiful light, and then the Canadian and the Scot and I were standing at the gates of heaven. St. Peter approached us and said that we were all too young to die, and that for a donation of $100, we could return to the earth."

He continued, " So of course, I pulled out my wallet and gave him the $100, and the next thing I knew I was back here."

"That's amazing!" said one of the doctors, "But what happened to the other two?"

"Last I saw them," replied the American, "the Scot was haggling over the price and the Canadian was waiting for the government to pay for his."

Yes, that is Lee Ermey, AKA Senior Drill Instructor Gunnery Sergeant Hartmann. I love that movie; I guess it reminds me of all the fun I had in boot (except I went to MCRDSD, not MCRDPI). :D

Did you know that Lee Ermey is a former Marine, and served in Vietnam? But he never became a DI, or Gunnery Sergeant. I believe he was honorably discharged (for medical reasons) after 10 or 11 years, at the rank of Staff Sergeant, if I remember correctly.

Nothing negative was intended or implied by this poll. It's just a friendly little poll to see where everyone is from. I'm sure that many of us (including myself) have relatives on both sides of the border, and ride on both sides.

There does seem to be more Canadians on this site than on the others, but where did you hear people knocking this? If they are ignorant enough to knock our site for having a lot of Canadians, I don't think we want them here anyhow, do we?

I'm gonna go have some fries with vinegar now, and wash it down with a Blue, eh? :D

i myself think there are more canadian's on this site and i'm surprised that more people are not getting in on this poll. we have over 8000 member's and only 60 will take part. i'm an american and proud of it. i think the people that knock this site may be jealous of you canuck's. i'm in maine and i have to drive north to find the riding i like to do which isn't far from the Quebec border. sometime's i say i'd like to move to canada just because of the winter....do i sound jealous of my northern neighbor's? probaly not, but i am alittle. longer winter's, don't have to drive 2 hours to get to the good riding. don't get me wrong i have some good riding right from the house but it's not like it is closer to the border. the way i look at is someone will alway's have something better than you. some people handle that better than other's and the one's that bash i say, it suck's being you!!!! ok i'm done rambling.............steve

hey damgeinc, can i join for a couple of those blue's? that's the best brown bottled brew ever brewed.

USA-NY, but 10 miles from my house to the Queenston-Lewiston Bridge-Love spending time with our neighbors. People seem much more relaxed on that side of the border, but why do so many Canadians come to NY doctors with your free health care system over there?
