Ok guys and gals, here is the situation. Rode about 25 or 30 Miles last winter to have Breakfast. Got out of the Resteraunt, pulled the Rope and bam, I am holding the rope in my hand. No big deal, start it with the spare cord in the tool box. Go down the road about a 1/2 mile to get gas, but do not shut it off. Get done and down the road about another 1/2 mile and she shuts off, no Spark. I have had the Stator off and tested. I took the Coil and CDI Box out of the sled and put it on one of my brothers sleds and the sled started right up. I have checked for bare wires and made sure that the Grounds are good. What else can it be??? Is there a way I can by-pass the Key, Kill Switch and Tether Cord? Any help would be great!!

Unplug your kill switch, I'll bet it starts right up. It could be that your throttle/ignition monitor switch needs adjusted too. The way you fix that is to tighten the throttle cables. But I would start with the simple things first, chase your kill switch button to the harness and unplug it, see what happens then. I had this problem with my '96 and unplugging the kill switch worked. I'm going with a tether style safety switch next. What year/type sled is this?

1998 ZR 500 Carb. I just got back in from unplugging my Kill Switch and that didn't work. Wouldn't you have to by-pass the Kill Switch to keep current running through? I will check your link, but do you have any other ideas?

Well, Arctic has used two types of systems, opened and closed. On a closed system unplug the four wire connector coming from the eng. by the rewind and jump between the brown and black wires. On a open system all you have to do is unplug the four wire connector and you should have spark (but you will have to pull off the plug wires or choke it to stop the eng. ). If this doesn't work you have problems under the flywheel.

If the magnetic switches on the carbs are not in the correct location you wouldn't have spark either ??? Try bypassing them. ;) But like auggie said, and easiest way to tell if its behind the flywheel or not is to do what he said.

Update!!! Auggie, turns out you were the Closest! My local Catmaster Tech. told me all of the same things you guys told me. He stopped by the house the other day and spent maybe 3 minutes looking at it and found the problem. Timing Sensor was all messed up. Seems I forgot to tell him my Recoil came apart. He told me anytime you have a Recoil break and leave Pcs. in the bottom of the Case, it will most likely take out the Timing Sensor. The new one should be in on Wednesday, hopefully Wednesday Night I will have fire again!!! SWRules
