Why do you like Skidoo/Rotax. *What makes you buy them over the others. *What features do you really like about them. *And do you agree with what the magazines say about your sled?

If you dont like skidoo just dont post so this topic doesnt get locked down. *Because the nature of this topic could bring on some trouble very quick.

i like skidoo because- power , handling, looks and styling
i buy skidoo because- reliability, customer service and Technology

I love the renegade. It is the perfect sled for my style of riding. The mags were dead on with their reports on the gade.

You and Lady K seem to really like that Renagade. *I never had the chance to ride one but it sounds like a great machine. *

I probably wouldnt want one because I almost never do any powder but sounds like the Mags were right because they gave it high marks.

I have to totally disagree with the Mags about the Mach. *Its like they want to kill it just by critizising it. *They are right about a few things but I think the problem is that the test riders dont like it because its not a jumper and all they want to do is smash mogles and stuff. * They should get Ice drag racers to test all the machines. *Then you will here the true story.

I also buy doo for the same reasons.

why did I start riding doo's? it was because I could ride a 470 and outrun most competitors in the class and the next class up.but I am starting to think doo has lost their minds putting all the eggs in one basket =REV.I think they should listen to what the consumer wants being light, smooth, powerful sleds.this being said it is not a twin that I want, I just want less weight.give me the triple with less weight,Yamaha has done it why not doo?I know there are 809 's in zx's why not doo?

Yes if you could give me a triple in a zx chassis with a 136" skid. I would be on board in a flash. *It's like doo has turned there back on the triples. *They dont seem to care what we need, only about sales figures. *Don't they realize that if they actually put some R/D,(&#036http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif. They would sell alot more triples than 400/yr. I owned new tripples *in 96/97/98 and 99 but switched to a 00 mxz 700/1.25 predator for the weight savings and nimbleness of the zx.
*Your right about the mags though machzzzz1. *What is the best one year is junk to them the next, unless it gets *a new chassis, engine and so on... http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

This is my first full winter riding a ski doo before that i was always a polaris man. *But what hooked me first was the ZX Chassis and its awsome style.

03-02-2002, 10:12 AM
i probably would have bought a polaris because of their popularity in the area here and not to rock the boat in the business i am in. but lucky for me i couldn't find a polaris in the 1 hour that i shopped sleds and my brother in-law has a 583 mxz so i was familiar with the doo a little. but the reason why i stay is the fit and finish is fantastic, the dealer and built here in canada. *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif Sorry, but I don't ride Doo, but I will say that the fit and finish is excellant. I like the styling of the Zx chassis. I must say that I have owned Cats for 7 years now and have never thought of switching until now. The 2003 renegade 800 has really caught my eye this year. I am looking for an all around good machine that has the ability to do a little of everything and still be comfortable on the trails and have some reliability as well. I also think that Ski-Doo also has the best accessories options of the four manufactors. I could be riding a Doo next year http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif Well, that could be the deciding factor. A 250 km ride with LadyK and permafrost, a free place to stay, and to top it off, I get a free cupcake. You better have snow down there cause I might be comin down. Just waitin for the Ski-Doo show to hit town then I will make my decision. That cupcake is almost puttin me over the top though. after riding polaris since 1986 i bought a used 99 mx-z 600 this year with only 1300 miles on it just to try one.i like the looks of the zx chassis .i'd say they sharpest on the snow.i also like the light weight feel.but sorry guys after 900 km i'm gonna trade it off on a 2003 polaris i think.just to many little things i didn't like.but its still a great sled, and i love the way it looks.not to keen on the rev though

The Ski-Doo Styling is top notch. *I love the different colors they they use. *All of their sleds have very strong engines. *Many other reasons I cant think of now.

Overall the best looking sleds made for the last several years, *#1 in fit and finish (the mags are full of BS Yammie is not better or even equal. They are a close second only&#33http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif, Rotax engines have overall been the most dominant (except the 500 and 600 Series IIIs), Best quality, overall most innovative although they drag there feet on a few things. *The most successful overall racing history out of all brands. *Besides, the other choices - Cat -terrible quality and reliability, Polaris - very formidable sleds but not very attractive, Yamaha - They always have one good sled out of their entire line up each year but the overall line up is the worst in the sport. * Plus, Canadian chicks dig em! DOO RULES!

Been on Ski-doos since 1965. *Reliability has been their strong point. *Very few warrantee claims considering I've owned *about 28 new Ski-doos. *Ok, the folks bought the first two!! *But I will say this, while I have had a few problems, I've never been stranded *on them. *That is, I've never needed a tow. *And everybody knows, they always look good. *Well, maybe not that '65 Olympique!! http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif *http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

Interesting, My choice for ski-doo which no one mentioned on any post was Quality of the product, other factors---Fit and finish, power, comfort, ergonomics, and yes...the dealer made a huge difference. I have an excellent dealer who's staff ranks up there with the owner. It will be very depressing when I move to another state and be this far away from this dealer.(No joke&#33http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif

I grew up with Ski-Doo. *First sled that I bought with my hard earned paper route money was a 71 Elan. *Went from there to T'NT's. *I never had a reliablilty issue with any of the sleds I had back then. *As a result I have stayed with Ski-Doo since. *There an excellant quality sled and great looking too.

I buy skidoo for all the reasons mentioned but mostly for the ability to tune the suspention. *It is so easy and every change is predictable. *I also like the fact that its made in Canada. *

And as funny as this may sound i also like the feel of a skidoo and even if i was blind folded i could tell you if I was riding a skidoo just by the way it feels.
