Has any one tried a 22 - 45 or a 21 - 47 gear set up on their Rev's? Any changes needed to the chain?

Where did you find a 47 gear?

Don't quote me on this but I do not think a 47 will fit in the case with a chain on it.
Apparently a 46 gear just barely fits and clears the bottom of the case.
I would ask the dealer or better yet the manufacturer if a gear as such would fit.

I'll just comment of other gears I have tested with...

I have tested with gears of 21, 22, 23, 24 [:43] for the 440. I found that the taller 23 & 24 gears were ok for flat running where we could get high consistant speeds. Problems arise when the sled got into steep long rolling hills, we would lose a lot of speed. The engine would maintain rpms no problem but the secondary seemed to take too long to upshift and the sled get back to its top speed. A simulation would be having an extra person on the sled.
Good rpms all the time. Good speed if the loads/terrain does not change too much. Very smooth acceleration, but hills slow the mph down.
When it come to rough extreme bumps at high speed, you have to let off the fuel then get back on it, the engine would flash to peak very nicely but acceleration is slow to get to the fastest speed for the terrain.

Once I started to gear back down to 22 and 21 top gear, the acceleration that was lacking with the 23 & 24 was greatly improved. The same top mph could be achieved very quickly. The greatest measurements for acceleration in all the trial runs was going back to the 21 gear. With the 21 gear, I could have the same top speed as the 24 top gear. The 21 gear is less sensitive to high loads like the hills and bumps I mention. The sled became hyper again.

In summation, taller gearing will still provide clutching that backshifts fast to let the engine get back to peak rpm quickly, but the upshift at high speeds will be slow. Taller gearing acts like having too small of a straight angle on the cam for the speed you are travelling at.
You lose mph quickly and is slow to come back to peak mph.

...just my take.

Thanks DJ! Thats a lot of useful info. It's my first year ridin a doo hence the silly questions. It doesn't help my dealer doesn't know what a gearing chart is, let alone how to get one. I'm used to just looking up the Polaris gearing chart to see what ratio I have, what chain pitch to use, what gears combos don't fit and find the theoretical top speed for any given RPM.

microbelmont makes a 47 silent aluminum gear for doos. But, It sounds like your saying it won't fit.

I'm trying to get a little more top speed for my 04 without sacrificing too much "speed bog" your talking about on the big pumps and hills. The 03 had 21/43 gearing, this year it has 21/45 gearing. I've also got a 10 tooth "no slip" drive sprocket I'm going to try out this year. In the mean time I'm stuck with just trying to find out what fits and what doesn't.

Do you know where I can get a gearing chart for these doos? Thanks for the help.

Thanks for the gearing chart RAD CHAD! I'll look into that 47 gear. It really does sound big but, I'll find out and let yal know.
