Anybody try Woodys carbides on precision ski's, If so how is the longevity and
performance compared to stock. I am thinking about trying them this year. Opinions
appreciated.

Usually Woody are best I thought, but I bought a set last year and returned them. They are not as good as the stock ones. They one had one wear pad as opposed to 2 on the stock one, and NO hardweld, just a big open space! I could see going over the bars the first time the carbide caught the edge of the trailer.

I always hated stock carbides. Combined with a studded track they are awful. I ran the standard StudBoy 6.5's on my Precision ski's for a couple of seasons. That's 13" of carbide per ski which IMHO was way too much, even with the 162 Golddiggers in my track.

For this season I put on the StudBoy 4" Shaper bars which again IMHO giving it 8" per ski should be plenty.

I have run Woody's in the past with good results on all my other ski's, so Im sure that there Precision ski carbides are as good as anything they have.

Good luck

Yes woody are awwsome, and are the only studs I use, but the precision ones are junk, unless they have changed ,buy a set and you will see. Stock DOO ones are not so hot, but they make many options as far as bar size and carbide length.

I only got 600 miles out of my factory carbides and then had to change. Put on woody's and I've got about 3000 miles on the same set. Both brands were put through the same snow conditions as well. :) Oh and the Woody's still look good for another season.

In the Precision skis & carbides post I brought back up, the guys mention that the 'doo carbides are different lengths. I take it the Woody's aren't? I've used Woody's for several years now & have been happy w/ them. Which model were you guys using Trail Blazer, Extender, Executive, that you didn't like the construction?

When I'm @ the show I usually pick up a set of carbides, but now reading here, I'm sort of debating that.

Fast-Trac makes a good carbide and the prices are good also. If you are experimenting with different Mfg., give these guys a try. I got them on now and they are way better than the stock Ski-Doo carbides that came with the sled.
