I am pulling out the MXZ this weekend and gonna start prepping it for winter. I like working on it before the weather gets real cold. I was just wondering how do some of you gage your track tension. Do you measure sag or use a spring scale? Just wondering.

The "by the book" method is @ 1-3/8" gap measured @ middle of hyfax with 16 pounds of pressure.
I like the PITA method of loosening it up till it ratchets and give it half turns till it quits. This takes a little bit of time, but allows you to run as loose as possible without ratcheting.
Good Luck

I loosen til it ratchets and then tighten till it stops.
I put the rear of the sled up, then I hook a fish scale on one of the track windows and pull down so at about 16lbs I have 1 3/8" clearance.

I'm with TT670. loosen til it ratchets the tighten some. IMO looser is faster because of less friction. There is a reason why they make antiratchets drivers.

Dave, this is another + to installing the Bolvin connectors.
You can run and un-believeable loose track and never rachet, free H.P. and better mileage too. :D
