So do any of you guys have either a BM scavenger airbox or D&D powerbreather. *What do you think of it. *I am trying to decide if it would make a difference on my 00 ZR 500 carb and which would be better or if there is much difference between them.

I've heard on other sites, they don't improve the 500's much.

Jim they are a brand called KICK-###, got'm from the Fett Brothers stand at Hay Days back in sept. *i was gonna use K&N until i found these,,,they clamp on real nice and are about 4" long and taperd down to an oval,,

So how do they work, do they stop any snow dust, or you more likely to suck some in, and do you you have a screen kit on your sled to help prevent snow dust from entering in under your hood. *I would like to do something with my airbox but not to sure what to do. *I raced a 00 zrt800 with the d&d breather on it and there wasn't much of a difference. * The difference was how ever hooked up first. *As far as mods i have v-force reeds and fine tuning to the clutchs but who doesn't do that 144 woodys, *he has d&d breather, carbon tech reeds, ad bovion weight transfer kit 192 studs and fine tuning clutchs. *We weigh the same +- 15lbs. *So i would say that the d&d isn't worth it.

I have a D&D power breath on my 99ZRT 600 and ran it this weekend at radar runs. JUNK !!! JUNK !!! Couldn't tell any difference at all. Plus the little plastic clips that hold the caps on all broke when in installed them back on, now they are duct taped. Don't waste your money.

I would think that if you can give your engine free unrestricted flow AND CLEAN AIR thats the way to go,, Ya the stock air box quiets the air and gets a resonance going, However its has only CHEAP little foam pieces that act as the filter,,, so if you like to DRAFT your buddies to pass em then your gonna suck snow AND DIRT in the motor, or just ride out front all the time http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif *P.S. i do not have a hood screen kit on the sled,, *regards,,, Greg

thanks for the input, that's what scares me is a little bit of snow dust entering them. *Is there a extra wrap of some sort you can buy and put on them?

Grn800, I don't think you would need the wrap unless you're in deep powder all the time. *I'm like HP, the filters probably do a better job of filtering than the stock material.

From what I have seen/heard, the Kick @ss air filters are the way to go. *Better than K&N, D&D, Scavenger, etc. *They do require some jetting changes, but all mods to the air filters do. *And yes, they are louder than stock of course, but not louder than the engine by any means. *I would recommend the KA filters over the others! http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

I've seen them on, *tool box gone, just wrap them in a rag and throw them in your trunk like all other brand of sleds.
