Hi folks,

I have a "friend" that sells heel clicker clutch kits in his newly started shop. As he is trying to convince me to buy such a kit for my snowmobile I feel that it would be interesting to have some third party opinions about this before I let my friend stick his fingers under the hood of my sled (summit 600 -99).

Note: I know very little about these "clutch kits" apart from what my friend has told me (he says they are supposed to make the machine accelerate quicker by delivering more power to the track...or something) :-)

Wanting to read some myself I went to the sledgear homepage and looked up the install instructions for the kit.

Heelclicker for TRA install instruction (http://www.sledgear.com/hc_install_tra.htm)

In these instructions it seems my sled is not listed in the table for different configs, but the 700/800 Summits are. I was thinking maybe it doesn't fit the 600, but the MXZ600 is listed.

Does someone know the reason why summit 600 would not be listed? Will it not fit or will it not improve the performance anything? Or is there some other reason?

/Confused clutch novice...

The heel clicker is all that, I have installed them on a lot of doo's, yamie's and pol's.

If you want to bring that 600 summit alive defiantly get the clicker.

I beleive the 45-10 kit is the one you want, the nice thing about the kit you can use stock springs and very easy tuning the weight. The install manual will only get you in the ball park of setup. It takes a little bit of testing to get it dialed in and their manaul that comes with the kit will steer you in the right direction.

I have tried several brands of clutch kits on the track dyno, all I got to say is numbers do not lie.

This is like any other product I am sure there are those that do not like it or have not had good luck. I have had nothing but good luck, but I am a serious clutch tuner.

Remeber in clutch tuning you can do different combos to get the same results and if you set up like everyone else you will only be as fast as them.

Think outside the box

Ok thx for the excellent input!
I think I'll go for the kit as soon as we get some good amount of snow here in sweden. (I want to test it before and after without having to wait too long meanwhile so I forget how it used to feel pulling the throttle :p )
