I've been having problems getting rpm up. so I finally let it rip on the stand. Runs up to 7500 hard and hits a wall. Like it has a rev limit. I found a smart valve stuck and removed both. Same result, 7500. Shortened center distances ( maybe the belt is too short) No, thats not it. Then all of a sudden, 8200 and it hits a wall there. I would think on a stand I should be able to run it up to what ever my nerves could stand. Any Ideas?

Stock ECU, Valves clean and move freely.

Thanks

Matt Gilbert

please dont tune on the stand, the results you get will not be accurate.

Over the season my F7 seemed to loose top end speed, like the motor was slightly down on power. After talking to the dealer about installing the factory updates I mentioned that the motor seemed down on speed or rpm. He said that some F7's had weak voltage regulators and he changed it under warranty. I haven't been able to try it yet. Hope it works. Food for thought.

I have also heard if those regulators go they can cause to much juice to go to the brain box and fry it.

your sled probably has a rev limiter @8200. the skidoo revs do @8300.

What does this act like when it hits the REV limiter? I was running some railroad grades end of last season and my '03 REV 800 would act like it was breaking up or the track was racheting. Couldn't tell from the snow conditions going from a very hard base to loose at those speeds! Checked track tension at the time and have looked at the chain case since. -Grover :hallo7:

what it does is it kills your ignition till it drops below the set rpms. it could sound like a racheting track.
