I got Arctic Pride yesterday in the mail. There is a guy in the magazine with a 89 Cat (Prowler or Cougar) that has 60,000 miles on it. He has owned it since new. Amazing! w00t

I got my copy of Cat pride yesterday. I saw that too. That is amazing. 60,000 miles on a sled and on an 89'. And I thought my old trail sled had a lot of miles on it (8,500 mi)

I would say that is probably the most miles on a snowmobile, unless there is some guy up in alaska that has ridden the same snowmobile for 30 years as saily transportation.

Arcitic Cat. The fastest, longest lasting sled on the planet.

I think the article said that it has had 2 new belts, 3 new sets of carbides, new top end twice, all new bushings in suspension one time, yet he keeps coming back and riding her. I would love just having the time to put that many mile on mine!!

No, I don't have any pictures with me. The article said according to his average speed and miles the machine has around 2000 hours on it. He even re-rivited his tunnel at one point. It shows how important maintainence is. :p

Apparently he hasn't ridden in Minnesota or Wisconsin the last few years.

It goes to show that if you take care of your sled it will go a very long time. I don't think I could ride the same sled that long though. I would have too much urge to buy new every couple of years. lol

Can you imagine what that wedding dress will smell like in about 10 years when the bride pulls that dress out of her cedar lined hope chess. Ahhh, two-stroke and cedar, my kinda woodsy gal.

I guess they dont make them like they used to. My buddys ZR has in 1800 miles went thru 2 sets of pistons the suspention fell apart, numermous nuts and bolts worked loose and the stater coil came apart while crossing a lake while trying to catch my MXZ-583 (yea rite) resulting in me towing him abt. 15 miles back to the trailer and that one cost him abt. 750.00 when all was said and done. Like I said they dont make them like they used to. :(

It said 2 tracks, not two belts. Still that's amazing. You Ontario guys are soooo lucky to have the trails you do. I don't think you could get a quarter of that mileage on a track in Michigan.

Well, you must be more into sledding than me.

Cuz on my honeymoon, I was looking for sex, not sleds.

But hey, to each his own.

A couple of things speak for themselfs in the high miler story (thanks for posting it), and that is big open trails of Northern Ontario and the time to ride them.

I thought that sounded too good to be true also. I don't think I've ever gotten more than 500 miles on a belt, but that's usually cause I do something stupid and smoke it. I read the article right after your post to see if that was true.

That is impressive mileage for the sled and the rider. That's more than 4000 miles per season regardless of snow fall accumulations. Way to go!!! Finally an A/C statistic that is worth noting. :p
