:) Hello.

Does any body use this type of drive sprockets ?
Are they good or bad ?
Does they stop ratchening ?

( The 2004 Ski-Doo Summit 800 has this type of drive sprockets direct from factory. )

We added extrovert drive sprokets (anti ratchet) to a 2001 600 arctic cat mountain cat. They definately stop ratcheting of the track. We run our track with about 3 inches of slack between the track and hi-fax. It is a big job to add them to your machine requiring removal of the skid frame AND making sure there is clearance between the teeth of the drivers and your skid frame rails. There needs to be at least a couple of inches between the teeth of the drivers and your rails otherwise there is a chance of spearing a hole thru the track. Make sure of this by FULLY collapsing your suspension and checking for clearance between the rails and driver teeth. We thought we had enough clearance but found out in the field that there was not enough thus driving the front tip of the skid frame rail thru the track. I think we ended up with about 3 inches between the rails and the driver teeth while the machine was sitting on the garage floor. We got the clearance by shortening the front of the rail then reinstalling the plastic rail tips .
As far as performance was concerned you can run the track looser and it won't ratchet so there is some theoretical increase in track hp. but it wasn't something that was noticeable while riding. We had made other modifications to this machine along with the extroverts and it DOES climb hills significantly better than our other two 600 mtn cats. Alone, adding extroverts probably wont increase performance much but as part of a mod. package to a particular machine I think it would be worth the effort.

Looks like a good concept. They must work good if you can loosen the track that much and not have any ratcheting. I'm gonna put those on when my stock ones wear, out seems like too much work to do if you really don't need them .

Well yes I to think the design is great and should work. I also want to install them Royal distributing has them at a good price. The only catch is that on some sleds you have to cut the front of the slide rail back so that the new drivers clear the rail tip's then reinstall the plastic tip. Thats not hard to do just worried about the tip of the rail wanting to try to come through the track in awkward suspension travel. Just not sure what to do yet. But running the track looser you have to be able to gain something. Less rolling resistance at least but that in itself should help fuel milage top-end. Sounds like a win win situation.

Do you just run the two new drivers or can you still run the inside ones to?

I ordered a set from fast and I got the seperate invert drives. So I had to run my stock drives plus the invert drives.(6 drives all together), And they still skip in the topend!!!!!!!!!!! :cussing: :cussing: :cussing: :cussing: :cussing: :cussing: :cussing:
192 picks and three tracks and YES IT IS JUMPING INTHE TOPEND..........And track is tighter than a guitar string! So I am undesided on those drives!

How common is track ratcheting? I just bought an 04 REV 800HO Renagade and felt the track ratchet once or twice when I took it across my yard in the grass. Is this something that I am going to have to be concerned about?

I also noticed that my track windows are not at every clip, there is 2 windows then it skips one then 2 windows then skips one and so on. If I were to buy something like the extrovert drive sprokets would I have to cut windows in my track or do they make a spocket my track?
