I recently purchased a '97 summit 670. The engine has twin pipes on it and I also have the stock pipe with a B&B terminator silencer.

I have been told by most people that I should remove the pipes to avoid burning pistons. Other people have told me changing jetting would solve this problem and it is just as safe to run the pipes.

I want this sled to be as safe as possible. Should I run pipes or go back to the stock pipe?

Thanks

As long as you jet for the performance improvements the pipes will provide, you will be fine, also after you get the jetting right play with the clutching to optimize the performance gain. On the other hand depending on where you ride the good ol DNR might not appreciate your aftermarket pipes and reward you with a nice fine. They have no sense of humor at times even if the aftermarket pipes are as quiet as the stock setup they can still ticket you for the aftermarket setup..Oh and have a nice day,,,hahahaha

I dont like all that racket myself. But it will be fine as long as you jet it right. SWRules
