Is there any advantage to wrapping pipes with thermo wrap to gain pipe temp. Or will I be looking at a pipe that over scavenges. I also want the reduced pipe noise wraps offer. Currently running SLP twins that are thin and "pingy".

I`ve often wondered if it can over scavenge in a trail situation but I doo wrap for drag racing.

I wanna wrap mine too. I`d like someone knowledgable to extrapolate a little on the over-scaveging comment. I would think that a pipe designed to run best at a specific temp would like it there all the time. Also in the trail, as indicated by my favorite clutch guy, the pipe almost never sees it`s full temp ability. By wrapping in heat tape, or insulating with ceramic, logic says it should be a help all around. And yes, also be a lot less "pingy".
