I had to replace the entire throttle cable on my '97 Tcat cause of a badly freyed oil pump cable. I'm so lucky I found it, it could've been disastrous if it would have broke when I was riding it!
All but two strands of wire were broke, and it was kinda up in the end of the cable, on the oil pump, where it was hard to see.
Anyway, what's the best way to syncronize all 3 carbs?
Should I just follow my service manual's instructions?
Thanks!

The best way (the only way IMO) is with a carb sync tool. If you don't know what that is, there are two types but they both measure how much air is flowing through the carb at idle. Make sure you warm the engine up before adjusting then set them all the same with the idle stop screw. But before you do this make sure all the carbs are pulling the slides open the same amount. With the engine off of coarse what i do is put three drill bits under the slides hanging out the airbox side of the carb and adjust the cables until all three drill bits drop the same when you squeeze the throttle. I hope you can make sense of what I'm saying it's hard to explain, easier to show. The thing about the cable going to the oil pump, if it does break the pump has a spring on the lever that puts the pump into maximum oil flow so you won't seize the engine if this happens on the trail, it works trust me it will smoke like crazy and run poorly but you will be able to get home if you have enough oil in the sled Hope this helps ya
