EA,Is this running the engine without the belt ?Did you hear any noises coming from the clutch on the engine,it may be loose. Also take out your plugs and see if there is any debris from the rebuild causing to misfire.

hey buddy, no she idles fine and all three pipes get hot. feels like maybe a mount is loose or maybe my belt is: nah, cant be the belt. it was off all summer and the machine shakes and rattles even at idle.

If she shakes and rattles at idle ,it would probably eliminate your drive components.I would get an opinion from your mechanic who put it together, hopefully it is a mount or something simple.

could possibly be the crankshaft, was he a knowledgeable mechanic?
when i broke my crank in two peices on my xlt it was vibrating real bad but still ran barely.
i hope that's not your problem but if that crankcase was pryed apart it will never be the same.
good luck and let us know what you find i'll keep my fingers crossed for ya!

There is a gear on the crank and on the counterbalancer shaft.
There are timing marks on each gear that have to be matched perfectly when reassemblying.
I hope he knew what he was doing, if these marks are not aligned it will vibrate and will probably not last.
Let us know what ya find out.

he is the very best arctic cat man around here from what ive heard. he has an identical machine which works wicked thats why i asked him to do it. the balance shaft was the reason it blew apart the second time but he timed it. he asked if the gear on the crank is supposed to be timed on the crank or just with the balance shaft. does anyone know? the arctic cat dealer around here said no. ill do another post just so that as many people as possible read it.
