Sorry if this is a repost, I did a search and didn't come up with anything. A friend of mine bought a 2003 Mountain Cat 900 with the 151" track, loves the sled, didn't ride it much last year but already has some bubbling on the right side of his hood like it is starting to melt. He was telling me about another friend of his who bought the same sled at the same time and his hood is way worse. Has anybody else ran into or heard of this problem. Any thoughts, advice etc. would be appreciated.
Try putting some muffler tape on the inside of the hood.

Aluminum Reflective Tape should be applied to the inside of the hood and I would hope that you have 1/2" air gap between the pipe and the hood. If the pipe is hitting on the hood you might want to adjust the hood to give the pipe more room.
I installed a 700 motor in a 440 sled and I didn't want to melt my hood. With the tape and the air gap no melting has occured to date. :D I also cut back some of the foam under the hood to increase the air flow in the tight areas of the hood.
good Luck.
