Hey everyone I have a question about the 99 Zr 440 Sno Pro's. All the pictures I've ever seen of the 99 sno pro there is only a Tach but I know you can get a speedo,however in the pics I've seen it seems like the hood or cowel is just formed with no spot to put the speedo. On newer sleds like my friends 02 pro-x 440 there is a cover in the hole where the speedo would be. I was wondering if that is the case with the 99 Sno Pro or not. Also if there is not a cover has anyone ever done this and how easy is it??? It just bothers me a little bit that there is not a speedo or a cover (from what I have seen) to take out and put the speedo into. I usually dont look at my speedo much but it is nice to have one there incase. Any help is appreciated,Thanks SWRules

I don't recall how the Tach was positioned on that sled (centered or to one side). If there is a spot to put the Speedo, it would be an easy job to add the hole. All you need to do is:

- Make a template for the hole size.
- Place masking tape over the area where you want the hole.
- Posistion and trace a line around the template.
- Cut out the area close to but not quite on the line. A rotory tool works well.
- Finish the cut by hand with sand paper to the correct size and to smooth the trimmed edge.

The Tach was positioned to one side, Sounds like a fairly easy method to put a speedo in. I was reading an article about them from back in 99 and from one picture it looked to me that there was a cover in the hole,so mabey its as easy as taking it out and popping the speedo in,lol. Browns shows a tach and speedo? see link. The only other thing I can think of as to why only a tach would be the models that were built and sold to the racers?
