Me and my buddy were looking at our new rev 800 HO adrenalines and we noticed the front shocks are installed in reverse. Should the adjuster be at the top or bottom? Also, can anybody tell us when they are installed, at the factory or the dealership?

my adjusters are at the top of the shock.

My adjusters are at the top as well. I also have three different pictures of the 800 HO on the wall of my garage and they are all at the top.

It really doesn't matter. the shocks can be installed both ways with out any adverse effects on the shocks. One way may give better access to the adjuster or may give better clearance etc.

Mine are on top, but I wonder if this is similar to the motorcross racers. Some of them put thier forks upside down. It supposedly helps, but I don't know if this is the same with the shocks.

I have gone thru this several times with shock experts. If the shock is a gas shock the performance of the shock will be the same regarless of the way it is mounted. However one point to consider is that if the shock body is mounted on the top than dirt, snow and salt will not accumulate and sit on top of the seals.

Also, if the shock body is up on top, wouldn't it put the weight of the shock body in the "sprung" category, instead of "unsprung"? Ya wanna minimze the unsprung weight, as that mass needs to be accellerated up and down in response to the bumps on the trail/track, the less mass that needs to move up and down, the quicker/easier it can do so.
