This one's for you, lucky owners of SDI engines. I am curious about its reliability.

What MILEAGE are you getting out of these engines before having to repair things?

How does it compare to the carburated version of the same engines? And against 4 strokes?

Does the protection against detonation really make a difference? Are the bearings better oiled thanks to not having fuel washing away the oil? What about rings and pistons?

Thanks for any info.

I would have to say the engines are very reliable. My dealer participated in the Ski-Doo dealer ride out last spring. The SDI machines they had there had over 8000 km's on them with no major headaches. Second thing is, they had the SDI system in the 800 Legends last year. I would think the package should be pretty reliable. Every magazine I've read loves the SDI to bits. Compare it to a gas guzzling old 350 with a 4 barrel on it to a fuel injected DOHC engine of today. More efficiency, hands down.

And what are mainteinance intervals for SDI? Is there anywhere in internet where I can get a manual? Any other SDI user with more info?
