Anybody used or own an air 5 helmet by HJC with electric shield. Are they any good. Selling for $200 Canadian, are they worth it?

I have one that I have never had any problems with at all. Its been good so far but I haven't put a ton of miles on with it on since I usually ride with my mx style helmet.

I have an HJC helmet, Love it...it is an MX snowcross style one, with goggles though. Don'e know about the heated shield. HJC's are nice helmets though.

They are ok cept i found they are a little cold without a balaclava.
I preffered my old LS airtech . I ended up pluggin up the breather holes inside the mouthcard with a couple of plumbing tap washer. Fit perfectly and doesnt allow as much freezin air in that burns your skin.

The air 5 is a good helmet, but the breath deflector isn't as nice as the newer Cl-12,CS-12 or the CL-14. The Air 5 deflector just covers your mouth and nose while the Cl and the Cs deflectors cover your checks as well.

CRAP! I bought one yesterday for $209.00 all black. I wanted a coloured one and the guy said you can't get multi colour but the link from Royal has them and cheaper. I don't knowif Royals's are the Air 5 though, but there even cheaper :cussing:

$138.00 US is approx. $201.00 Canadian. You got a good deal. I think I may see if I can return it? I really wanted a multi colour one, or is just plain black cool enough nowadays? Is the CS-12 a much better helmet?

My brother has ran hjc for a while now and he has never said anything but good about them,,,,He has wore my doo modular and still likes his better,,,,,

I got a SyMax last year. I think it is great, however the breath deflector tends to get to much condinsation inside. Anybody else have that problem?

I've seen lots of CL-12's with Electric on sale for $200.00 canadian. I have one and love it. It's warm comfortable and quiet.

The CS-12, Cl-12 and the Cl-14 are all very similiar helmets, and are all high quality skull caps. The CS-12 will just seal a little better around your nose and cheeks than the air-5, If your not a heavy breather, dont worry about it.
