If you have two sleds with around the same size engines, which would be better and why? Twin or triple??

Are you trying to intentionally start a fight?? These kinds of questions typically start a shooting match between 'camps'. Good luck with this one!!

Howdy! Well, if I had the same size engines in a triple and twin sleds..I would most likely pick the triples even though everything I ride now is twins I still love the RAW power that the triples give out.. and it all depends on what type of riding u do..like i am underage so I only ride 'round like my cousins farms and #### so i would most likely take a triple beacuse i can run down to the lake and woop some of those so called badass twins.. but if u are the type that goes up north alot for the trails i would pick a twin exspecially the Rev 600ho or the Polaris Pro X..

but it all depends on what everyone likes riding..I like the twins but if i had to pick twin or triple...RAW POWER OF A TRIPLE!

My Pick would have to go to the Twin, although I ride a tripple, price was right. I really like goin airborne, yes you can with a tripple too, but twins get more. I have riden both and i will admit if I was given the choice i'd ride Twin, but if you like speed and lakes, go Tripple for sure.
Just my oppinion.

Well I love my tripple in the trails. She is a TANK, and is glued down. It gets decent milage, can play in the powder, and rumbles like a beast and doesn't scream like a cat with its tail stepped on. That i like.
Twins are light, agile, quick off the hop, and only 2 of anything to fix if and when it breaks.

I have not ridden a newer tripple, but i still must say, i would probly go twin in my next sled. I will regret it i know, but there are the advantages too.

Top end isn't too important to me. I like hole shots. So I'll take a twin. :)

clearly it depends on the specific motor...

not sure anyone would be happy with an 04 Yammie 3x600 compared to a cat or doo 2x600

but triples run real smooth and sound great ...

It mostly depends on what your riding style is like. If you are an aggresive trail rider and love the twisties a twin would be easier to through around. Triples are more for lake runners or if you ride alot of open trails. I'm not saying a triple wont move through the twisties it just takes more effort then a twin. The power of a triple is alot smoother then twins are gererally have more top end, best of all is the awsome sound of a triple.

by far the triples have the best sound. i think thats a big reason why so many love them. plus they put out great power. you take a zr 800 twin puts out around 140 hp and a zrt 800 triple puts out around 150. now of course the triple is heavier but the extra tourque seems to make up the difference. Personally i was always a triple fan, but at that time i was mainly into trial riding. As soon as i bought a lighter twin last year i found out how much i loved to through a sled around. with the triple it was so much harder, specially when u wiegh 155 pds. i'll be riding a lightweight twin for some time but that doesnt mean the triples arnt as good as a twin. its all in your riding style.

Definately a triple fan with a triple. The weight does throw a negetive on it but i'm around 230lbs. I can't throw it around as good as sleds half the weight but i get by. And when the straightaway comes up......look out.
