i bought some 1500 degree paint and it says you have to bake at 650 for an hour. i was wondering if you guys did this or not and how the paint held up. thanks Bill

If you can wait until there is a few inches in your yard, paint it then and just drive it around for a while (if you don't have access to an oven to cure it in). It won't be as good as an oven, but it's better than nothing.

I wouldnt hammer it,,,,I would take it easy,,,,they want you to cure at 650, and your gonna get a lot hotter than that if you hammer it,,,,

:christmas: , the key thing is, surface prep. scuff it all up real good and clean it, use good quailty paint, i use PJ-1, very good results

katmanzrt600 said it. Surface prep. I put a course wire brush end on the drill & get 'er good. Then I clean it with paint thinner. Then, I put the paint on & use halogen lights all around it to cure. I don't know how hot they get, but it seems to cure quick. Never had any problems.

u could either do like the others said or take the pipe off and put it in the oven? kind of stupid idea and might smell but it would work, although i would prefer to drive it around.
