: Help With Insurance!
rotaxmaniac 11-27-2003, 01:03 AM I'm having trouble finding reasonable insurance. ANY SUGGESTIONS????
I accidently missed a payment and my previous insurance company cancelled my snowmobile policy!!!!! To renew the policy with the same company LIBERTY MUTUAL that cost me before the cancellation $860.00 for a 97 mach 1, a 02 legend and a 2 place enclosed trailer, would now cost me $6800.00 a year :cussing: :cussing: . I have now been fighting with them for over a month! I'm now finding that it is hard to find a company willing to insure sleds unless you have an existing auto policy with them! ANY SUGGESTIONS ON A DECENT INSURANCE COMPANY IN ONTARIO WOULD BE APPRECIATED!!!!
THANKS
puree 11-27-2003, 09:11 AM 6800$$$ holy #*#*,,,,,I agree, time to find another policy. I am in the midst of possibly switching my cars, house, etc,,,,,,just to get my sleds on a policy,,,seems my agent offers no sled insurance,,,,wont be offering me ANY insurance pretty quick
PhiltyPhil 11-27-2003, 09:17 AM May as well try the new OFSC partner Jevco...I have not called yet but prob will although mine is pretty good. Anyway its....1-888-404-SLED....hey can't hurt....any one else called....?
OntRider 11-27-2003, 09:59 AM Try Primmum (aka TD)...
With that said, it looks as if insurance companies are looking for any excuse to get out of these high-risk (in their eyes) policies. Pay your bills on time so this doesn't happen again! There's no excuse, IMHO.
brenty 11-27-2003, 10:21 AM I would try http://www.primmum.com
I switched to them this year and took just my sled. Real cheap too!!! $76 inc. taxes but no collision for a 94 Indy 500 EFI.
You better hurry though, I've heard of guys in your type of situation having to fill out lots of paper work and waiting 2 weeks for a quote. I got my quote right away over the phone and so did my neighbour! SWRules
OntRider 11-27-2003, 10:25 AM I've heard that Primmum (and other insurance companies) will mail you forms if you do not have a favourable credit rating... they'll want more information in those forms that you typically would provide over the phone.

I called the Trailsmart insurance your right it is Jevco. They wanted $1150.00 to insure my 97 Mach 1, no collision. And $560.00 to insure 02 Legend 800 (go figger)? They say the c.c.'s dont matter it depends on what the sled is classified as ie: sport, touring, etc. And they don't insure trailers. :slick:

when applying for insurance, companies always ask if you were denied insurance or cancelled by another company. YOU have a problem. :(

ravine rat 11-28-2003, 08:18 PM I went through the insurance delema as well. First at fault accident in 30 years. My sled Co. dropped me like a hot rock. Moat places wouldn't touch me. Primmum was great. They didn't talk down to me and were cheaper than the last Co. $120 no collision on a 98 GrandTouring 500.
