Try to remove it first with some solvent (wax and grease remover, enamel reducer, or something) then restore the color back with a product called black again or similar product. It is used to make colored mouldings on a car black or whatever color they are to be bright again.

I would use some dawn dish washing soap mixed with warm water and a brush. People use dawn for taking off wax build up on cars prior to rewaxing... so I would guess it would work well in your case.

one time wheni was waxing the car...i got so fed up with the fax on the trim, i masking taped it, and they left sticky residue. Windex and a toothbrush worked great!!!

Funny, I got a card from their lab today (they're a good customer of mine). I've used lighter fluid in the past on stubborn ones but sometimes that can be too harsh. Meguiar's makes top-notch products so I don't doubt it would work. I'll have to get me a sample!
The Windex, Dawn, and other tricks I've seen on this post only work if the stain is still fairly fresh. If all else fails, get a shoe polish to match the color - kinda like fighting fire with fire but it works great.

Good Luck,
